Here is a nice Appleton burr mill. It seems to be in great shape and pretty much ready to use. I opened it up and the burrs or plates look good to me. The bearings seem nice and tight. The shaker mechanism has a cast iron piece riveted to a tin piece. Those riveted have pulled through the tin. A very easy and good fix would be to drill out the rivets and attach it to the tin with screws. The knob for adjusting the pressure on the plates has one notch missing but that really doesn’t matter at all. It is a great item to run with your old engine. Take a look at the pictures and see if you should have it. I would attach it to a pallet for free. Turns over fine, the bearings seem nice and tight. 37-1/4 tall to the top of the wood hopper extension. 31-3/4 tall to the top of the cast iron hopper. About 27″ long and 17-1/2″ wide. The base is about 15-3/4″ x 17-1/2″. The pulley is 9-1/4″ in diameter, and 5-1/4″ wide. The flywheel is about 13-3/4 in diameter. I think it is in great shape but I haven’t had it fully apart and haven’t tried to use it. Most items will go out faster though. I have many good parts and pieces I will be listing in the next few months. I try to do a very good job of listing everything I sell in a very accurate manner to explain all the good and bad points with the pictures and in the description. So if someone doesn’t pay I will ban them from my listings and also tell all my friends who also sell engine parts on here who to watch out for. If you haven’t caught on this is supposed to be mildly funny but yet serious at the same time. If you decide you don’t want it or find another one cheaper you I won’t take it back. Only issue with the cart is the front steering end, between the rails somebody welded in some steel, where originally it’s supposed to be a block of wood. It would be very easy to grind those welds off and put wood back in there like it’s supposed to be. Probably less than 10 of weld bead would have to be ground off, not a big job at all. All four wheels are in excellent shape, all hubs are there and in good shape. There are no issues with the wheels, hubs, axles, steering etc… It has a really nice, heavy duty hardwood tongue that comes with it, ready to hook on the back of your tractor and go. Very little wear in the wheel bearings. Within an afternoon of minor tinkering, this cart could easily be put back to 100% correct, and ready for your engine. I believe this cart is correct for both an 8hp and also 10hp Famous, or Titan engine. Channel iron length I believe is the only difference. I can deliver this cart to Portland, IN swap meet (May) or show (August), as well as Baraboo, WI swap meet in May, or Coolspring, PA show in June. You can also pick this cart up here, we are 100 miles north of Detroit, and 35 miles east of Saginaw. If you will be picking it up, I can store it here for up to 6 months, no charge. Here is A Nice 1/2 Hp Maytag Upright Gas Engine, This was in My Personal Collection For quite a few years, I Have decided to thin a few out. This Is an early Engine That Has All The proper Features: Has The Carburetor Mounted to the main Bearing, This does Have the proper early Narrow flange carburetor, But Missing The Choke cap, which are available here on E-Bay…… Has the Original 2 piece governor That looks Like it would run the engine……. Commutator is there But Missing The contact spot Off it. Flywheel is in good Condition, I see no Damage in the usual Areas But does Have one chipped blade Of The Fan, Which is Fairly common… Also I See No serial Number stamped on it…… I Have run across Quite a few With No Serial Numbers For some reason.. This is early enough to Have used the small footed Base, Like The Experimental Carburetor Engines used….. When I first Got This engine I Had One foot On The Base fixed with nickle rod, It Is A good repair But will Not Rust, It Is A difficult Base to find! This Is Over All Good Engine From What I can Tell I Have never Had it Apart, The Main Feels pretty good without any extreme wear, The Rod Does have some play. The Engine Does have pretty good Compression, I Think with some tinkering This Engine would Run, However it would be A good idea to Resize the rod If you were planning On Running this a lot. Cylinder jug Is Good with NO Broken Or Repaired Fins, It Does have A couple Minor chips, Probably From when it was machined. It Also has Unique Brass Muffler That Displays well with it! It’s great Engine If you want an Original Maytag Upright, But would Also Be a good Restoration Candidate…… At least It Is All There, NOT Pieced together, Not Stuck & Not In Need of any Major repairs!!! Here’s an item that certainly doesn’t turn up very often! It’s an original CT Hamm or Rochester kerosene headlight for an early prairie gas or steam tractor. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs and has minor surface rust. It is a large headlight and measures about 9 1/4 x 12 1/4 x 22 1/2 inches tall. The reflector is in great shape with one minor ding that I’ve tried to point out in a picture. It has the original carrying handle on it and it works great. All of the doors both sliding and hinged work as they should and have no issues. It has remains of the “AVERY Company, Peoria, IL” stenciled on it as can be seen in a photo. These original headlights hardly ever turn up in the wild or even at swap meets and they really dress up a prairie tractor or traction engine! If you’ve been looking for one here’s your chance. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up and it probably won’t be this nice. The pictures tell the story. Here’s a nice older restoration 5 HP Baker Mfg Monitor horizontal engine. We traded for this engine just the way it is about 20 years ago. We ran it a few times when we got it, and it’s been sitting in the barn ever since. It’s a nice straight engine. I don’t see anything broken or damaged on it. I believe it has the original muffler. The best part is it’s on its original factory transport. It has a nice Michigan oiler & Lunkenheimer mixer. Overall it’s a nice old engine that should make a nice showpiece. Here is an Ideal Model R engine. I started restoring this engine a while back and just didn’t have the time to finish. I stripped off all old paint and sandblasted the parts that could be before repainting. I replaced the gaskets in the oiler and cleaned it out. The magneto is “hot” and produces a good spark. When I got the engine, the magneto wasn’t timed with the engine so I timed it back up. The carb is a lunkenheimer carb with brand new gas line that I installed. The only thing that it should need is a needle valve for the carb. I do have one that I will throw in but it is a little bent and I was gonna replace it with a new one from HIT MISS ENTERPRISES but never got around to it. I have never ran this engine because it wasn’t done all the way but it should run with minimal effort. I did all the work on it and was planning on keeping it so I didn’t skimp on restoring it. Here is a nice big engine that would make a good project for someone looking for a decent size engine to work on. This is a 9 HP Hercules EK that is in good original condition. It’s never been painted or messed with and would be a dandy winter project. Here’s the good about it: it’s 99% complete and I have the original Webster magneto that has already been REBUILT that goes with it. I missed pictures of it as I’m initially listing this engine, but will add them when I get them. I don’t see anything broken or repaired on the engine. When we got the engine it was in the back of a barn that was full of stuff. To get it out, we had to take it apart, so that is why it is still partially disassembled. Nice original engine with a lot of potential. Here’s what will need some work: the engine is stuck, but I don’t think it’s very bad since it has been sitting in a dry place for years. The inner part of the muffler is missing, but the main outer part of the original is there! You could probably make a plate to go in there if you wanted to. The cap on the carb is missing. It also needs new main bearings, as someone stole the Babbitt out of them, but the crankshaft looks nice. Other than that, I think it’s a nice solid old engine. You don’t see too many of these big 9 HP engines, so don’t miss out on this one if you’re wanting one.
