This is a very nice original 1 1/2hp Fuller and Johnson Type N hit and miss gas engine. It is a true hit and miss gas engine and has an open crankcase and lots of moving parts. It is in excellent original condition as can be seen with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It turns over nicely with excellent compression. I haven’t run it but I’m sure with some fresh gas and a cleaned check valve it would start right up. It has the rarely seen Sumter rotary magneto attachment right behind the hopper which makes it a self contained engine with no need for a battery and coil. It has most of it’s original paint and decals as can be seen and there is very little wear anywhere on it. It has the original gas tank, a cylinder oiler, and one original skid. The other seems to have been replaced for an unknown reason but this could easily be duplicated and made to look like an original. This engine has very dainty flywheels on it and has very nice lines to it. It could still stand some more cleaning to expose more paint but that’s the fun part. These original engines are getting harder to find every day as original farmsteads are quickly becoming a thing of the past!
