This is a model that is based on a 2-1/2 horsepower Vertical gear less, engine built in the 1890′s. It incorporates a pendulum type governor, igniter ignition, and a fuel pump all without the use of gears. This is accomplished with a notched cam with a ratchet wheel, advanced simply by eccentric movement. All of these functions are miniaturized for you, in detail in a fully operational model engine. Runs on common Gasoline. Model engine specifications, are 1-3/4″ bore, 2-1/4′ stroke, 12-1/16″ diameter flywheels. Engine height finished 22-1/2, weight 80 pounds as shown in the photo of the finished engine. This is a 4/10 scale of a full size engine. The hobbyist or person with mechanical skills can assemble this model. It requires painting, polishing, assembly, and a wood base. No machining is necessary. Kit includes, assembly and operational DVD, complete set of machined parts, all nuts, bolts, studs, cotter keys, and piping, name plate, complete fuel system, all ignition, and igniter parts, lubricators, with oilier and a grease cup. Here is a very nice casting kit for an Olds Model Engine. The kit looks very nice and is complete as far as I know. I do not have the plans for this kit but these kits have been on the market since the 1970′s I think it would be very easy to get a set of plans. Check out the pictures and see if you need it. The flywheels unmachined are about about 8-1/2 in diameter. No Plans but it should be easy for you to get some. Weighs about 50 lbs before any packing material or box. Here is a very nice model of an Olds hit and miss engine. It has excellent fit and finish and also runs great. I’ve owned many models and I can tell you for sure that they just don’t come at a higher quality of workmanship that this one. To see a video of it running search “Olds Model Engine” on Youtube. Runs good see youtube video, copy and paste the link. Been sitting for some years in a climate controlled storage. I installed new fuel line, battery, propane tank and it fired right up. (propane tank, battery not included) motor turns over nice with no excess play and has good compression….. Any questions please ask. Need more pictures I can send. Please see pictures for condition whats included. Thank you for looking. Measures overall length is 15 end of flywheel to tip of valve. Width is 9 1/4. Flywheel size is 8.
