Make your life a little easier, get that engine on wheels and quit dragging it around. Here is a set of cast iron parts that will take a lot of the work and all of the welding out of making a wheelbarrow style cart for your engine. Included are one pair of bolsters with axle mounting hardware, two 8″x2″ five spoke wheels and two handle/support legs. Bolsters are 3 tall and will allow you to make a nice heavy duty cart for engines up to 275 pounds. The only parts needed to complete the cart are common 3/4 pipe for the axle, engine mounting rails, nuts and bolts. Cast iron will give an antique look many prefer over fabricated strap steel and help your engine really stand out at the next show. Photos of assembled carts are for reference purposes to show possibilities of finished carts, engine and other parts not included. I was told that this is a Maytag model 72, please correct me if you know it is not. All I know about this engine is that it is apart and it is missing one rod and piston and the other piston is stuck in the sleeve. I don’t know if it had spark or if anything else is missing, you get what you see, sorry for the lack of info, i just don’t know much about these. I had some people asking about the coil and to do some tests. The coil reads 9.2 ohms between the spark plug wires and it sparked well after testing the spark per you tube video. Three Fairmont Speeders in rough shape. 1 is dismantled (was going to restore, but just took up room in the garage for 15 years). Only have one carburetor. One is B&O with the I. Tag still on the sheet metal. Not sure about the other two. They all came from the Monongahela Railroad in the 90′s. The B&O car which was dismantled – the parts have always been stored indoors, but yesterday I had to remove them from the garage due to a remodel. One of the cars had a canvas top, but it has since disintegrated. The other two had no tops. Call or text with any questions. Bolsters are cast iron of universal design, adaptable to your application. Fully machined and painted, ready for use. Axle u-bolts and mounting hardware included. Wheels are machine bored, rather than a rough cast cored hole, and then the outer rim of the wheel is machined flat and smooth as opposed to tapered rough cast. Handle mounting brackets clamp onto turning axle making handle mounting and removing easy. Instructions include with set. 8″ diameter by 2″ wide, 1-1/6″ bore for ¾” pipe axle. Steering Bolster – 5″ diameter base, 6-1/2″ wide axle mount saddle, two 7/16″ mounting bolts 3-3/4″ apart. Solid bolsters – 3″ tall, 4-1/2″long mounting base, 1-1/2 thick. 3-1/2″ long, 2″ wide, 1″ thick, ½” x 1 post. Maximum recommended engine weight is 500 pounds. The only parts needed to complete the cart are common 3/4 pipe for the axles, engine mounting rails, front bolster mounting plate, a handle and nuts and bolts.
