This is a pretty nice old 3hp Fairbanks Morse Z throttle governed gas engine. It seems to be in great shape and barn fresh from a collection where it has lived for decades. It turns over nicely but the exhaust valve is stuck. The cylinder looks to be in great shape and it looks like all of the bearing shims are still in it. The gas tank looks to be in very solid shape and has the “original” corn cob filler plug! The engine head appears to be unbroken unlike most of them. The fuel needles move as they should. The engine has the cast iron governor bracket on it. It is missing a governor weight and the small governor gear. It also needs the piece of spring steel on the speed changer that runs on the governor spindle. Both the cam gear and crank gear seem to have very little wear. With just a little elbow grease this could be a very nice running and displayable engine! I can deliver this for free to LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year. I can be reached at 262 573 1931 if you’d like to talk about it. The pictures tell the story.
