This listing is for a very early band saw sharpening machine. The name plate says NO. Approximate size is 34 inches tall, 40 inches wide, length is 35 inches plus 16 inch small. Shaft for a total length of 51 inches. This band saw blade sharpener will sharpen bands up to eight (8) inches wide. This very early machine is flat belt drive (no motor). Estimate grinding wheel up to ten (10) inch. This company is still in business and I have tried to contact them regarding date. Of manufacture and machine weight, but no response. I have no way to weigh this machine but would guess it to be in the area of 500 pounds. I would guess that this machine is over 60 years old. I have had it in storage for 30+ years. This machine could be of interest to woodworking, sawmill, old tooling and wood, make. An interesting accessory for displaying an old hit miss engine. This machine appears to be complete, I see no evidence of breakage but since I have. Inspection but must sell AS-IS. Presently the machine is on but not attached to a standard pallet but overhangs which is. Not acceptable to most shippers. No charge for present pallet. If you make arrangements to have it picked up, I will make a. We have the ability to assist in loading. Root & Vandervoort 1 HP Hit and Miss Engine – This is a rather desirable, rare engine in the small 1 HP with skeleton base. Not positive on the year it was made. I believe it was the early teens, and Not positive what model it is, possibly AR. If you have any information that you would like to share send me a message. I have only just looked over the engine for a few minutes, I will tell you what I know. After looking it over it has a somewhat fresh coat of paint on it(last few years). It seemed timed well enough and in order enough to give it a test start. It did start right up and seemed like it would run, but I only ran it for a few moments. It needs some adjustments and It will need new babbit bearings, as there is no shims left. The crank has pitting on it and it has ok to medium low compression, enough to run. I believe it will also need other various work to make this engine in good running condition, possibly rings or valve work or bushings. It may not need much. I think in the right hands this could end up being a very nice collector piece. Seems to be all complete except for the exhaust pipe. I think it will need some new springs they do not seem right. Has a Good Oiler, Good Fuel tank and Pulley. No Cracks or Breaks or Welds that I can see anywhere! This model has flywheels & gas tank that hang below the base. I will be listing more Engines & Parts in the next couple weeks, you may want to add me to your favorite sellers! ALL YOU HAVE TO DO AFTER YOU PAY IS GO PICK IT UP WHEN IT ARRIVES. THEY WILL CALL YOU. I WILL SHRINK WRAP THEM SO NO PARTS CAN COME LOOSE. I WILL SECURE IT TO A PALLET AND BUILD A CUSTOM CRATE AROUND THE ENGINE SO IT WILL ARRIVE SAFE. Has good compression, have not tried to run it, fluids have been drained. It has serial #FB4208 stamped on crankcase. Has brass carburetor and rare 2 bolt block and head. Manufactured in Bordentown NJ. Measures 2 0″ high x 16″ long x 20 W at furthest points. Motor is stuck and does not turn over. I have not tried to free this as I did not want to damage anything. I did pull the head and inspect the cylinder/piston. There is surface rust on the cylinder/piston. The Carburetor is The Schebler and oiler is The Lunkinheimer and have 1902 Patent Dates. This motor is for a serious collector/restorer and will need a complete overhaul of bearings, gaskets, etc. Motor will be professionally packaged/insured.
