I have what I think is a early or hand made Hit And Miss Engine cart. I looked for a company Name plate Or don’t know if this is handmade. This cart has a large pulley with a Ohio Reducing gear and a steel knuckle and the gears and pulley works. This is great piece of history and don’t know if this is John Deere or International Harvester or some other brand. Where the engine stands is Green and Red on the long Angle Iron. The sizes/Measurements are: The total length is almost 50 inches long. The front metal Axle is 19″ long From the knuckle to the pulley is 14″ long The big pulley is 12 7/8″ big Small gear is 10″ long and it is a cast iron Ohio Gear with part number IS 12120 The knuckle shaft is 13 long. I have tried to find anything close to this on the net but can’t find anything close. The gears turn like it was new and clean. In the front there was 2 eyelids that was used for pulling but one is broken. They don’t give me much of a option? Here is a very rare piece! This J112 igniter bracket and Webster magneto fits a large Armstrong gas engine. You see few mag brackets around now and then, but you rarely see anything for an Armstrong. The Webster is the large size like you see on the bigger engines. I’ve kept this mag on the shelf for years as part of our collection, but I figured if anyone needed it for an Armstrong engine, it just as well go back in service. It is greasy and dirty, but I think everything on it is complete and seems to be in good shape. The mag is missing one screw, but that’s the only thing I can see gone. It even has the original starting trip lever. The Mag & igniter both move freely and I don’t see anything broken or repaired on either. The points look good and it even has the original terminal clip on the igniter and the original name band on the mag. These brackets are hard to find and this one is in good condition for being 100+ years old. Don’t miss it if you need one. Please check out my other engine parts auctions. Here is a very rare magneto / igniter setup for a Simplicity Gas Engine. This is an early bracket with the highly sought after and rare Podlesak magneto. Or even if you just need a mag, you won’t find them much nicer in barn fresh condition than this. I’ve looked the mag & igniter over and they seem to be in nice original condition. I don’t see anything broken and there are no welds or repairs. The igniter and mag both look nice and greasy & they rotate smoothly. Neither are stuck nor are the worn out. The shafts feel nice and snug. I hooked a meter up to the mag and flipped it with a screwdriver & it moved the needle back and forth. So the coils should be good. It might need a recharge on the magnets, but I think it should work without much more than a good cleanup & lubrication. This is a really nice outfit & I would be very excited to find this if I needed it for my Simplicity engine. 2 7/8 center to center on the mounting holes. Hard to find original cast iron Edgemont machine clutch Pulley for I think an Economy or Hercules antique stationary gas motor. Pulley is the small number 1 size and is about a 7 inch Pulley. Clutch is loose and looks in very nice condition and would look great on an original engine. No cracks breaks or welds. Please review pictures for size and condition. May fit other engines as well. Almost impossible to find these small clutch pulleys for smaller size engines. This engine is mechanically and cosmetically in nice shape. Compression is good, and all moving parts show normal wear. The only thing this engine is missing is the nameplate, but the serial number is on the end of the crank, so a new tag could be correctly stamped very easy. Serial number is #8067. The engine is mounted on a decent set of hardwood skids, and even has a battery box, you just need to drill the holes for your wires. The engine starts and runs excellent. Hits good and strong once and coats as it should. This engine is ready to work, or just show. The engine could use a new wrist pin and bushing, as you can hear in the video there is some wrist pin clunk, just a normal thing most old engines could use. Very nice working ball check oiler. Only weld I can see on this engine is the tab on the flywheel where the governor spring bolt sets in, it’s not a weld I would worry about in the least bit. Paint may or may not be original, I will let you be the judge. Flywheels run perfectly true. Gas tank is built into the base and there are no gas leaks, or water leaks anywhere. Has 6″ Steel Flywheel’s, approx measurements 9″W x 12″L x10″H. Comes with redwood display/storage case. Please see all pictures. Nothing wrong with engine just lost interest after father’s passing. What is here has been restored, but it is missing lots of pieces and the Flywheel has some chipped fins. It turns over nice. This came from an antique engine restorer. This magneto would be correct for a few different engines, one being I believe a Lorenz sideshaft. I know this is correct for other engines as well, possibly early Listers? The mag is in near new condition. Everything is in great unworn condition. Throws a great spark when tripped. Very unworn armature, no grinding or binding at all. Top cover is cast aluminum and says Bosch “type 33″. Patented – patents pending. Stamped on the side on the base is a serial number and it says New York. Points look like brand new, as well as points cover. Base where is mounts is 2 1/4″ wide and 3 3/4″ long. Bolt spacings on centers is 3. Very hard to find magneto, so don’t pass it up if you are needing one! This mag is ready to use. Feel free to ask questions. MADE IN OUR GOOD OL’ USA!! And made from the days when a company and its workers were proud of. Their products and made sure to resemble that. Good-natured pride by actually showing it in. Their work/craftsmanship and quality materials. Will Undoubtedly Make A NICE Addition For The General Antique Collector, Someone Looking For Replacement Parts, or The Person Who Loves To Tinker With The Hit & Miss Engines Showing Others At The County Fairs How They Use To Grind Grains! Will Upload More Pictures ASAP. This a Martin No. 4 Grain Mill made by the MARTIN MFG. These were often ran by tractor’s PTO belt-drives as well as the hit n miss and steam engines. This has been stored in my grandparent’s attic for who knows how long. I inherited their house n property several years ago and now me n my wife need to make space so it’s time that someone can actually use this equipment instead of being stored where no one can enjoy it. We believe this grain mill is in good condition considering their age, and based on the age of these mills they’re obviously in used condition. May have scratches, flaking paint, or other imperfections that are inevitable due to conditions beyond our control and so nowhere have we said or implied that this item is in absolute perfect condition meaning it’s used and so obviously not something that stays looking like it just came off of the manufacture’s production line. We Go Out Of Our Way To Properly/Carefully Package Your Items As We Would Expect The Same If The Shoe Was On The Other Foot. And this will ALSO need to have a crate made for it since a cardboard box obviously WON’T come close to being strong enough. Which are clearly presented further down the page..
