Up for sale or offers here is a vintage Stover CT2 hit and miss engine. Serial number is TB-266910, which according to the lists I’ve found on the intraweb put this being built in 1940. Engine is a 2 – 2 and 1/2 HP engine at 600 RPM. No CBW’s that I can see or know of. Hot WICO EK magneto. Engine fires right up and runs true. Hate to sell this one, but its time to move on to another project. I have a friend who hauls loads west and south a lot and would be very reasonable. If my price is too high, shoot me an offer. Not often seen Hercules JK 1-1/2 – 2 HP engine w/ original crank handle, unique fits into the flywheel. Looks to have original wood skids, and paint orginal also. Looks to have the original Wico EK magneto, and it is very hot. I put a little gas in the starter chamber and this motor fired right up, I only ran it for a few seconds, and it seemed to run great. The only thing that was missing was the fuel line, and the exhaust so I put a little home made exhaust tip on there for now, and used the starting chamber to start it. Hello All and thanks for stopping by. Up for sale or offers here is a 1931 John Deere 1 and 1/2 horsepower type E hit and miss engine. Serial number is 324144, which according to the lists I found puts this as a 1931 year of manufacture. Engine starts easy and runs nice. Just had the magneto recharged so she’s good and hot. Not sure if that is original paint or not. This sat in my dad’s machine shop under a tarp out of the sun and dry for 30 some years. This would be an easy complete restoration. Engine needs a good cleaning and thorough go-thru, but nothing major. Could use new gaskets (as most of them could) but it runs fine as it is. Nice little engine at a great price for any entry level Deere collector or and Deere collector in general. I don’t have the means or space to build a pallet or crate for this, it will be on the skids it is on now when I drop it at the terminal. Engine can sit for a month here as long as it is paid for, I’ll keep her dry and safe. Thank you for looking. It swivels in the middle to turn. I have had it running a couple of times but after about 5 minutes running it looses compression and all I had to do was take the head off and oil the valve and then it would work for a while. I’m guessing the valves just need a little work. The Engine shroud is homemade and corroded through in various places but I believe you can get a new shroud made by a company in OH. It has an oliver plow. Everything works on it mechanically. This is a really neat rare item that would be great to take to engine shows. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!
