This is an extremely hard to find original Webster magneto ignitor bracket for a 1 1/2hp Sandwich hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. It is in good original condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It is bracket number 303M31 and mounts with two 3/8 inch holes 2 5/8 inches apart on center. This bracket will fit the 1 1/2hp engines and possibly the 2hp and other sizes but please measure your engine to be sure it fits your application. It may also fit other engines. The magneto mounts on a 1 1/2 x 2 inch pattern so it would take a Webster M magneto. The points look to be in perfect shape. There is no noticeable wear on the movable shaft. Everything moves as it should and I think this bracket is ready to be used on an engine. It’s as close to NOS as you could hope to find! Sandwich Hit Miss Flywheel Farm Gas Engine –NO RESERVE. Here is an old Sandwich Flywheel Engine. I have included many photos to show its barn fresh original condition. It has good compression. It is missing the gas tank. It will not run on the mag. We hooked a coil and battery to the ignitor. We squirted starting fluid in the carb and cranked it over. It fired right off. We ran it a few seconds by swirting fluid in the carb. The governor latched out at a pretty high RPM. As can be seen in the photos a couple of the teeth are missing on the gears. Which does not affect its running. Flywheels run true with no wobble or runout. With a little TLC it will make a nice original condition. I beleive it is about 1 1/2 – 2 hp. I have too many engines that I have been tripping over and. Cluttering the barn that need to go. Keep checking my other auctions for no reserve barn fresh engines. The wheels are 10 in diameter, the cart is complete with a nice hardwood slab for the skids, and a oak battery box complete with wires. The only flaw with this cart is one of the wheels has a crack in one of the spokes (see picture), that is the only flaw with this cart. They don’t get any nicer that this, it is ready to put under your Sandwich engine or any engine you want to put it under. Only thing it needs is a handle to pull it around, I did not get one when I bought it, but it would be very easy to make something up. These original carts are getting very hard to come by so don’t pass it up!!! Feel free to ask questions!! You are looking at a 3 hp sandwich engine. It appears to have run sometime. It has some compression. The play in the babbit on the backend is about 1/8 inch from side to side. I do not see any cbws. It is pretty complete it is missing an oiler. It doesn’t come with the cart. It doesn’t have a cover for the connecting rods. It would have had a cast iron cover that is missing. I feel like this is a $1200 engine, but i’m just starting it at $800 to see where it goes. If you would like a quote to your local fastenal, call 620-421-1808. It would be placed on a 48×40 pallet. This engine is in excellent shape, with nice compression. The only two things not correct, are the rocker arm and rocker stand, but they work fine, just as they are. This engine has the hard to find webster magneto setup on it. Flywheels run straight as an arrow. There are no cracks, breaks or welds that i can find. Has a nice ball check oiler on it, and also has the original nameplate as well. The cart it is on, is very nicely built, it looks so good, you would think it’s the original cart. No water or gas leaks anywhere. Speed control nob works perfectly, it will idle down to where the crank will almost stop when it fires. Engine is totally complete with original belt pulley, and ball muffler. This engine needs nothing but a new owner and some shows to take it to. I can deliver this engine for $40 to portland, in or coolspring, pa shows and swap events this year. I can also personally deliver this engine for $75 anywhere in ohio, kentucky, or tennessee sometime within the next month (must be paid for). You can also pick it up here free, we are 100 miles north of detroit. I can store the engine under cover for 6 months, for no charge until you come get it. Feel free to ask questions.
