Very nice 1/8 scale Reid Gas engine model. Machined from a Burns and Horner casting kit. Machine work is very nice. I haven’t run the model but don’t think it would take much to get going. These haven’t been made for years and are getting harder and harder to find. The item “1/8 scale Reid Gas engine model. Burns & Horner Hit & miss engine” is in sale since Tuesday, May 31, 2016. Scale Model Hit & Miss Casting Kit for The Economy Engine Last 4 available

1/3 scale Economy Hit & Miss Engine Casting Kit. Last 4 from the estate of Joe Tochtrop No more to be produced. 11 Aluminum castings 4 cast iron castings- crankshaft, pullet and 2 flywheels as shown Complete Plans with parts / materials list These are the last remaining castings from the Estate of Joe Tochtrop Includes my personal modification for Viton head gasket and piston ring, including parts. Joe was a long time maker of casting kits for various scale model engines. Upon his death I was able to obtain his entire casting conglomeration for his lifelong assortment of various motors. Sorting thru them, I found enough individual castings to able to put together a few complete casting kits for some of his motors. Because some of his casting patterns were lost, this engine in Joe’s configuration will no longer be produced. If you’ve ever wanted to build one of his motors, don’t miss this last opportunity to get an original Joe Tochtrop casting set. I included 3 pictures of this completed casting set from the dozens I have made over the years. As you can see, the finished version of Joes plans are only limited by your imagination. One of my upgrades made over the years was the use of a Viton Quad O-ring for a head gasket and piston ring. I also developed a tapered crank and flywheel plan to ensure straight running flywheels. This kit includes the plan changes for both upgrades, as well as the 2 Viton Quad O-rings you will need. Completed motor is approximately 12 inches long, 7 inches tall with 6 1/2 inch flywheels. Bore is 1 1/8th inch. My personal engines from this kit generally run between 350 and 500 rpm’s. Using the variable speed lever and flyball governor. The item “Scale Model Hit & Miss Casting Kit for The Economy Engine Last 4 available” is in sale since Saturday, May 21, 2016. This item is in the category “Toys & Hobbies\Models & Kits\Tools, Supplies & Engines”. The seller is “toolguy4u” and is located in El Cajon, California. This item can be shipped to United States.

YORK SCALE MODEL CASTING KIT Hit and Miss Old Gas Engine

Here is a casting kit to make a scale model York hit and miss gas engine. I bought this kit last summer with a bunch of other stuff. As far as I can tell it is complete. This one is priced to sell for less. If you are looking at the pictures and the parts list I believe the valve cages are one casting. See picture with my fingers pointing. Check out all the pictures and decide if you need it. The flywheels castings are about 4-3/4 in diameter. I believe it is complete but check the pictures. The plans come with it. Most items will go out faster though. I have many good parts and pieces I will be listing in the next few months. I try to do a very good job of listing everything I sell in a very accurate manner to explain all the good and bad points with the pictures and in the description. So if someone doesn’t pay I will ban them from my listings and also tell all my friends who also sell engine parts on here who to watch out for. If you haven’t caught on this is supposed to be mildly funny but yet serious at the same time. If you decide you don’t want it or find another one cheaper you I won’t take it back. For example if my measurements are wrong I would take it back. So here it is. Check out my other items. Be sure to add me to your favorites list. The item “YORK SCALE MODEL CASTING KIT Hit and Miss Old Gas Engine” is in sale since Monday, January 04, 2016. This item is in the category “Business & Industrial\Light Equipment & Tools\Stationary Engines\Engines”. The seller is “hitmissengine” and is located in Holgate, Ohio. 1/3rd scale Associated Hit and Miss running model engine, Breisch castings NICE

Scale Associated Hit and Miss running model engine. Built by Dick Shelly from Manheim Pa. In 1978 using Paul Breisch castings. Shelly was well known for producing show quality model engines. The Breich model engine brochure I have features one of Dick Shelly’s engines. One unique feature of this engine that some of you that are “in the know” might notice. This engine normally has a “B” cast in a circle in the lower front area of the engine. This one has a custom “S” where the “B” normally is. The “S” is for Shelly, the last name of the builder. I want to start off the details of this engine by addressing it’s color. The flash photos make it look like a brighter red than it really is. Take a look at the second to last outside (no flash used) photo. That one looks slightly darker than it really is but closer to the actual color. The video was shot with my iPhone and the color looks good there. Guess it’s just a hard color for my Sony camera to reproduce correctly. The wooden stand measures 17 x 10 ½ x 4 inches tall. Total height from the bottom of the stand to the top of the exhaust stack is approximately 13 ½ inches tall. This engine in the Breisch sales brochure is listed as having a 1 ¼ inch bore by a 1 5/8 inch stroke. The flywheels are approximately 6 ¼ inch in diameter. It weighs about 26 lbs. It has a make brake ignition system with a low tension coil mounted inside the bottom of the display box. In the video I incorrectly stated that it has a High Tension coil. Paul Breisch made another version of this engine called “The Little Brother”. That one is like this except it uses a different head with a spark plug mounted in the head and no opening for the Make Brake ignition. I normally run these engines on Coleman Lantern Fuel with a few drops of model aviation Castor Oil added for upper cylinder lubrication. Being out of the Coleman fuel I ran it on gas with a few drops of oil added. I believe you can use 6 or 12 volts to power the coil. I used 12 volts as I do not have a 6 volt battery. The coil did not get warm at all after about an hour or so of running. It ran best with the fuel mixture screw out about ¾ of a turn and you will receive it with the mixture screw at that spot. There is a choke plate on the inlet of the fuel mixer. It only took a few turns of the flywheel with the choke closed to suck the fuel up to the needle valve. In fact I flooded it slightly on the first start attempt, but it only took about 4 or 5 spins of the flywheel to clear it out. Here is the web link for my video on this engine. You should have some mechanical experience with small engines to get this to run properly. ALL SALES ARE FINAL! It would be best if you first contacted me about this should you be from those two states. Please include your address so I can get an idea of the actual cost. It seems every time I package something in advance, someone wants me to measure something or see another photo. This is a running, gasoline powered scale model engine that comes with no instructions or guarantees what so ever!! Do not stick your finger or other body parts in a rotating mechanical assembly!! The new owner assumes all responsibilities and liabilities to himself/herself and others with this engine. This is an adult collectible item not to be operated or played with by children. I make no clams to it being safe as it is a antique scale model reproduction produced back in the day when no safety guards, air bags, safety warning labels, ect.. Were attached to dangerous products. I make no claims that it will even run as some might not have the mechanical ability to figure it out. By purchasing this item you are stating that you have read my whole ad, you understand it and that you agree with the terms and policy’s stated in this ad. I have detailed photos posted. A link is in this ad that shows this engine running. Thank you for looking!! Should you have any questions, please ask. Thank you for looking! Unique Water Cooled Running Scale Model Engine, Gas Motor, Hit and Miss style

I do not have any information on this engine except that it has a date plate on the bottom that says 1999. Should anyone have any information like, was this a kit or was it a scratch build, I will post that information here. What I do know is that someone sure did a nice job as there was a lot of attention paid to even the smallest details. The workmanship, fit and finish is nothing less than 1. Class and everything works as it should. The wooden stand measures 13 x 9 ½ inches and it stands about 9 ¼ inches tall to the top of the exhaust stack. It has a 5 inch flywheel and the bore and stroke measure approximately 1.125 x 1.500. It weighs 12 lbs. It reminds me of a hit and miss style engine but it has no governor to hold the exhaust valve open for freewheeling. I did not get a ignition system with it so I ended up using a self-contained buzz coil setup that will be included in this sale. I did need to adjust the timing of the ignition points so they closed at TDC to trigger the buzz coil. If you want to add or make your own ignition system I can remove the buzz coil from this sale and reduce the price by my cost on that item. I ran this on Coleman lantern fuel with the throttle opened slightly and the mixture screw out slightly less than ¾ of a turn. I spun the flywheel twice with my finger over the air inlet to pull the fuel up and on the next spin of the flywheel, right before the compression stroke it started. Here is the web link for my video on this engine. You should have some mechanical experience with small engines to get this to run properly. ALL SALES ARE FINAL! The box measures 25 x 13 x 14 and will weigh around 22 Lbs. I will not be packing this up till the sale is final and it has been paid for. Were attached to dangerous products. I make no claims that it will even run as some might not have the mechanical ability to figure it out. Could you even imagine the 1,000 page, government regulated, congress approved (if they could agree on it) safety book that would have to be included with a Hit & Miss motor? If this were to have a modern consumer warning attached to it, it would probably advise you to wear fireproof clothing, protective boots and gloves, wear eye protection (although eye protection is a good idea) , a helmet and some sort of respirator. Wrap yourself in organic bubble wrap, mark the running site with cones and protective tape that is specified on page 885. God this country is driving me nuts!! New Holland hit and miss scale model engine

I bought this engine about 12 years ago and it just sat on my shelf until about 3 years ago. I hooked up a battery and buzz coil and used Colman fuel with about 10% WD40. Much to my surprise it started up. It does need some adjustments and fine tuning to get it to run better but it runs. Have decided that since I’ve only messed with it once in 12 years that I should sell it. The flywheel diameter is 4. It has spark plug ignition but you will need your own buzz coil and battery. The item “New Holland hit and miss scale model engine” is in sale since Sunday, April 17, 2016. Here is a 1992 completed model hit and miss engine model FM/7 by 7 Mountains Model Shop of a Fairbanks Morse 25hp stationary engine. This engine is in very good condition, nice and clean. A few nicks in the paint here and there. Runs slick as a whistle! We only ran it for a couple minutes but everything was oiled up good before starting. It was fairly easy to get running, only had to clean the contact on the side of the engine for the ignition. Please take the time to watch the video, if you’re like me you’ll watch it over and over. Engine measures 16″ long not counting the water tank, flywheels are 10″ in diameter, and it weighs roughly 55 lbs as mounted. I bought this at an estate sale as a completed engine, it was rough but definitely had run at some point. It had its size going for it, it’s really small. I started to machine the head and clean it up but just lost interest. All of the parts are there but it’s entirely disassembled.
