I was informed by a knowledgeable person that this one of the earliest utili-motors made. It has a split crank case which dates it to 1927-28, making it a first year engine, and it has a very low serial number. The engine turns over with compression and it does have spark. I actually had it running, but the carburetor was covered with epoxy/goo and it started leaking fuel, so I peeled off the goop to investigate and the carburetor pretty much fell apart. There is also a small crack in the foot pedal, but I kicked it over several times and it still works fine, could be replaced. Other then that this seems to be a good engine, in pretty good condition. WE WILL BUILD A CUSTOM CRATE FOR THIS ITEM, SO THAT IT IS SECURE AND SAFE. WE DO NOT CHARGE FOR THE MATERIALS OR TIME TO BUILD THE CRATE, WHICH IS OUR LOSS, YOUR GAIN. PLEASE SEND A MESSAGE. Here is a nice looking Bosch NRV low tension magneto. It is very much like Sumter B. It produces a very nice spark. There is a small amount of wear but nothing that will hurt anything. The armature turns over smoothly with no amount of drag. This mag should be ready to start and run your engine. Please check out the pictures and see if you need it. SPECIAL NOTE: This is a low tension magneto, it is meant to work with an igniter and will not produce at spark that will jump an air gap. It will not work with a spark plug. The spark it produces can be observed by rubbing a wire from the terminal against the case of the mag while turning the shaft. It does have to be timed to the engine. Tapered shaft for gear mounting. 2″ x 2″ mounting pattern. All the mounting holes have excellent threads. Has a small amount of wear. I think this mag is pretty much ready to start and run your engine. I think I list items very accurately but my opinion on condition may differ from yours. In my opinion this is a great magneto. Here is a very nice Wizard Model 2S low tension magneto. This mag appears to be in great shape and possibly rebuilt. The brass name tag has been soldered in several places but that will not hurt the operation of the mag. It produces a very nice hot spark. Here is a nice Webster K magneto. It is very hot. This is a pot metal body mag but it in absolutely great shape. The center link or spring hookup has been brazed but looks absolutely perfect. It would be easy to change out if you wanted but the repair looks great to me. Please take a look at the pictures and decide if you need it. If you have questions 419 789 1159. SPECIAL NOTE: This is a low tension magneto, it is meant to work with an igniter and will not produce at spark that will jump an air gap. It will not work with a spark plug. Pot metal but in great shape! 2″ x 2″ mounting pattern. All the studs are in great shape and are tight in their holes. No noticeable amount of wear. Spins freely with the springs off. Here is a nice Webster K magneto. It is very hot. It is a die cast body mag with brass bearing plates. The one bearing plate has a flaw by an oil hole but that will not hurt the operation of the mag in any way (see pic where my pen is pointing). Here is a nice looking IHC R magneto. This mag isn’t perfect but it is hot and will work great with just a little bit of work. The key is sheered off and part of it is still stuck in the key way. That will probably have to be removed before use. One of the magnets is cracked but that does not seem to effect the spark. It has some wear but nothing that will hurt anything. Here is a nice Webster M magneto. It produces a very nice hot spark and only has a small amount of wear. One stud has threads that are a little messed up. I think it would probably work fine as is or it would be easy for a machinist to remove it with a milling machine. Please take a look at the pictures and decide if you need it. One mounting stud has bad threads. Center cover is missing but reproductions are easy to get. Only a small amount of wear. Spins freely with the springs off. I think I list items very accurately but my opinion on condition may differ from yours. In my opinion this is a great magneto. If you have any questions about how to use it on your engine please ask. Here is a nice looking brass bodied Associated 4 bolt low tension magneto. It produces a very nice spark and only has a very minimal amount of wear. Please take a look at the pictures and decide if you need it. SPECIAL NOTE: This is a low tension magneto, it is meant to work with an igniter and will not produce at spark that will jump an air gap. It will not work with a spark plug. The spark it produces can be observed by rubbing a wire from the terminal against the case of the mag while turning the shaft. It does have to be timed to the engine. 1/2 shaft for gear mounting. 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ mounting pattern. The mounting holes have perfect threads. Only a very minimal amount of wear.
