During October, a swell collection of Vintage, hard to find Toy Motors have been selected for you.. Including this very Rare 1949 all-red ATOMOTOR power unit! We first discovered the ATOMOTOR 9 years ago and have been collecting them ever since. Motor’s original design placed it on top of a plastic D Cell battery box, where the. 4 metal clips underneath base would make contact and run very nicely. During the past 65+ years, boxes tended to warp outwards due to battery pressures, making electrical contact sometimes iffy.. Plus, it was difficult to power Steam Engine machine shop tools and other Fun Toys with motor so high up and not on ground level. The Good News is ATOMOTOR can be powered two different ways… Using the box or simply attaching a pair of. Battery wires directly to Motor’s base underneath… By-passing box altogether as with our Custom Built Power Plant here. This is a real nice older restoration 3hp fairbanks morse zc gas engine. It is a throttle governed engine and is in excellent condition as can be seen. It has excellent compression and good, hot spark. I haven’t tried to run it but i’m sure with a little fresh gas it would start right up and run. It has an old repair on the head which is very hard to notice. It has the original belt pulley on it and is on a nice homemade wooden cart with roller bearings in the wheels and rolls very nicely! It has no noticeable wear in the bearings and very little wear anywhere else. These zc engines are real workhorses and this one would be great on a corn grinder, sheller, ice cream maker, or other implement at the shows. All of the hard work is done and this engine should b ready to go! It would be a fine addition to your collection or a moderately priced first engine. This is a real nice original 1 1/2hp fairbanks morse z gas engine. It is commonly called a dishpan z for obvious reasons. It is a throttle governed engine and is in excellent condition as can be seen. It has excellent compression and lots of original paint! It hasn’t been run in a few years but i see no obvious reason why it won’t run although i haven’t tried it. It has the original belt pulley on it and seems to have very little usage on it as the bearings and gears are all very nice yet. It would be a fine addition to your collection of original engines or a probable upgrade from the dishpan z you currently have in your collection.
