This is a very hard to find original fuel mixer or carburetor for an International Harvester 1hp Famous, Titan, or Tom Thumb hit and miss gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know of. It has the G6971 part number and IHC logo cast into it as can be seen Everything seems to function as it should and it has the original choker sleeve on it. The mounting threads are in great shape. There are a lot of these that are broken, repaired, or simply missing so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up! A great original, early, Ca. Has the optional butter churn pulley, Lunkenheimer Paragon oiler, spark intensifier, & oil can in holder. Still has the original gas tank! New proper muffler, wood base, and battery box. Ran fine the last time, which has been about 4 years ago. This engine has never been left outside, rusty or froze up. These were made around 10 years ago by a gentleman in New York, Kansas. Fly wheel is approx. 8″ The engine is 14″ overall. Sits on a cart, 29 overall. Craftsmanship and machining is very nice. All you need is to paint the engine and get a buzz coil. It is a very rare model. Only a handful were ever made. Please ask questions if you need additional information or photos. It’s a runner (see video). Have a good look: Pics and video give best description but here’s what I can tell you. It has the desirable factory butter churn / cream separator pulley on it. None of the aircooled fins are broken or repaired. There are some obvious detractions like the JB Weld repair to the carb. There is also a braze repair to the rocker arm bracket and the end of the rocker arm itself looks like it has been built up. Character dent in the gas tank. The paint is obviously showing it’s 20 year restoration age. The engine runs sweetly but there is a bit of air getting through the valves so she shows weak compression. The piston itself is tight as is most everything on the engine. Don’t hear much noise from those gears eh? The teeth and tolerances are fine. She is what she is. There’s a few around but trying to get a guy to sell one is like pulling hen’s teeth. This one is for sale. Lots of possibilities, lots of different prices that I just don’t know up front.
