Real nice original 1 1/2hp Fairbanks Morse Dishpan Z. This is the red hit and miss version which is quite scarce. On original skids with original battery box and gas tank. Everything moves as it should and engine has very good compression. Lots of original paint and more under the grease and oil! Nice buzz coil in the correct coil box. The hasp on the box is missing but doesn’t affect anything. Previous owner ran the engine in the past few years. Included but not in the pictures is the correct starting crank. Barn fresh just the way we like to find them! Early Waterloo-built 1 1/2hp United engine. In good shape with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see other than the rocker stand which I believe is available as a reproduction. Turns over nicely even after sitting for decades. Has what I believe is the original gas tank in the box and is on the original skids. Some original paint showing with much more hiding under the grease and oil. Engine will need a mechanical restoration as a few things are worn but will be a very straightforward project. Engine last ran in the early 1960′s to pump water for cattle per previous owner. Not many survivors like this left to be found! I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to Coolspring, PA, later this month. It can stay here as long as needed as long as it’s paid for. This is a pretty nice original Wico EK magneto for a spark plug fired hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. These magnetos were used on many gas engines of the day. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. Everything seems to be in great shape for its age. I checked it just before I took the pictures and it puts out a good, hot spark that should run your engine if it is set up properly. The threads in the mounting holes are in great shape. It is serial number 105638 and has the original serial tag on the top. These Wico EK magnetos are getting tougher to find every day so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It would also make a great spare on the shelf. This is a VERY hard to find original Dixie 246-T 2-cylinder base mount magneto. It was used on the Waterloo Boy and early John Deere D tractors and power units and probably had other 2-cylinder applications. It is in excellent shape with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of and looks to have been rebuilt in the recent past. It is counter clockwise rotation and the impulse works as it should. Everything works as it should. It turns over nicely with no bearing wear that I can feel. It has good magnetism and puts out a nice blue spark on both leadouts. Everything inside the points cover looks to be in great shape. It mounts on a 2 inch square bolt pattern and the mounting threads are in great shape. These original Dixie 246-T magnetos are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one for an authentic restoration here’s a really nice one. It turns over nicely with some compression even after sitting for many years. It is on the original skid/frame. It has a broken governor bracket, cracked head, and an old repair on the rocker arm. It will also need a gas tank. It should be a pretty straightforward restoration. It is the early model with brass flywheel and shroud. Mounted in a display stand which could be improved a bit. Turns over nicely with great compression and shouldn’t take much to make noise. Has a homemade mixer on it that worked well for the previous owner. Would be a great addition to your early air cooled engine collection. Pretty decent old Headless Fairbanks Morse Headless Z hit and miss engine. It turns over as it should but needs a few minor parts to be complete. It will need valves, a gas tank, and a governor weight pin for sure. It has very little wear and no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than a minor chip on a cam gear tooth and another one on the intake valve guide which shouldn’t really affect anything. It has some rust holes in the pulley and a few more in one skid as can be seen. The skids are still very solid. It should be a pretty straightforward project. I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to Coolspring, PA, next month or LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, or Portland, IN, next year. It can stay here as long as needed as long as it’s paid for.
