Nice built United Engine Company – Associated Engine Company model hit & miss engine as shown. Specs on the tag are – Type A 1 & 3/4 H. This is a very nice built model- untested, but moves freely and looks great. This Measures 16 inches long with the base, the engine is 12 inches long. The height with the base is 9 & 3/8 inches, 6 & 1/4 inches without and it is 8 & 1/2 inches wide at its widest. Gigs up real soon, sorry, no freebies!! Associated or United 4 bolt magneto for hit miss engine

Associated or United magneto for hit miss engine. Mag is in good condition and ready to use. Leaving the mag with original patina, new owner can shine up if desired. Mag fits all the Associated engines that have the 4 bolt mag bracket. Pot metal mag that is very solid to use and not cracking. Threads are all in good shape. Come with the original bolts. Lights up a 12 volts test light by hand nice. I recharged the magnets to make sure it was at full strength. 2 3/4′ X 2 3/4 mounting spacing. Guaranteed to be a HOT mag. I also have some 4 bolt mag brackets available too, just ask. If you don’t see a part you need listed, good chance I have it and haven’t gotten around to it yet so just check with me. Like I said I have done this a long time and try to list everything accurately to explain all the good and the bad. If you decide you don’t want it or find another one cheaper, I won’t take it back. This is a pretty nice older restoration early style 2 1/2hp United hit and miss engine. It has the early style ignitor trip and an open crankcase. It is in good condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I’m aware of other than the rocker arm which could easily be replaced. The head hasn’t been repaired like most of them. It needs a muffler and a correct gas tank which are both available as reproductions. It is on a homemade cart that makes it easy to move. It has a heavy wooden battery box on it as can be seen. It has excellent compression and should run with some fresh gas and a battery and coil although I haven’t tried it. It ran a few years ago at local shows. The paint on the crankguard needs some attention but I think it’s the wrong color, anyway. I can deliver it for free to LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year. It can stay here as long as needed as long as it’s paid for and I will load it for you. The pictures tell the story. It’s a pretty good sized engine for 2 1/2hp. Original Brass base 4 bolt magneto for a 1 3/4 to 2 1/4hp ASSOCIATED or UNITED engine. Magneto turns over fine and you can feel good magnetism. Threaded mounting holes in the bottom are perfect. Has the drive gear which will work on the 1 3/4hp to 2 1/4hp. No cracks, breaks, or welds. Some pitting on the magnets and gear. Gear teeth are good and not wore sharp at all. I attached a 12 volt test light to the mag and it would light the bulb with a quick spin by hand. This mag along with the other parts I have listed were from someones engine restoration project that was disassembled and never got finished. I will try and post many pictures so you can get a good look at it. Check out my other items. Tag has a small tear in it. Engine is in great running shape. Ill be posting a video soon. Engine has the early cast iron carb. Looks to have new bearings. Overall engine is very tight and has good compression. Sitting on a very nice original? There are no cracks, breaks, or welds that I can find. One rocker arm holder looks to be home made but works! Head is in great shape! I can store this engine for a period of time if paid for. Battery and coil not included.
