This engine has been restored in recent years and done quite well. The engine has new valves, a new rocker arm pin with oil hole, a rebuilt ignitor, as well as a brand new gas tank with no leaks. Good working ball check oiler. This engine is complete, including the pulley, crankguard, and muffler. The cart this engine is on is homemade, but it is one of the nicest built carts I’ve come across yet, look at the pictures and I think you will agree. When the previous owner rebuilt the engine, instead of sleeving the engine, he knurled the piston which is another way to gain compression, and it worked quite well, the engine has good compression. The only negative on this engine is, the pulley side flywheel has about a 1/4 wobble, it’s the crankshaft that is bent, the flywheel has no issues, and the wobble hurts nothing. This engine is perfectly in time, runs smooth, coasts good, and is ready to hit the shows this summer and fall! Please see pictures and video, and decide for yourself. The engine is in near perfect mechanical condition, you will be able to tell that when you hear it run in the video. It is mounted on a nice set of heavy skids. The gas tank is an old gas can, but it works just fine. The engine is complete with the exception of a muffler and pulley. The engine has so much compression and backpressure the oiler wasn’t working very good which is why it is off in the pictures and video, I will include a nice oiler with the engine. Compression is super and the wear is almost non existent. The rocker arm is welded, but it looks like a nice solid repair. Flywheels run nice and true. This engine has none of the normal clunks, knocks, or bad noises most engines do, it has very, very few hours on it. You can even see the original lathe marks in the bore yet. This is a really early United with the removable hopper and straight ignitor trip. This engine only needs a new owner and a show to take it to, NO tinkering required.
