This upright Maytag engine was made about 99 years ago in1918. It was one of the last 1/2 hp uprights made with the carburetor attached to the main bearing. It has super compression and little wear. I haven’t tried to start it but see no reason why it wouldn’t come right to life. The only issue I can find on this one is the chips on the top cylinder cooling fin. It has a lot of original paint and patina left on it and it should be left in this condition. It has the original brass priming cock which is very hard to find. It also still has the original fiber gear on the end of the crank shaft. This was used to power the washing machine and very few of these survive.
