Here is a nice National diesel vertical engine complete. The engine has great compression. The tank has old diesel in it and needs changed as it has not been ran for years. Up for your collecting pleasure is this real nice original paint 2HP vertical engine. It’s in very good condition, has good compression, has the original grease cups on the mains. I took them off, cleaned them and put new grease in them before I ran it. Look at the photo of the cylinder head, inside the water outlet, it looks very clean. The fuel pump works as it should as does the ignitor. The intake valve is not sloppy in the guide. It also has the pulley on the flywheel. It has the original sub base but there is no gas tank in the base nor any holes drilled for it. This engine may have little running time on it; it’s that nice. The only issues I see with the engine are the repair patch on the cylinder- which was very nicely done many years ago, and which I think adds character to the engine, and the intake valve lock is missing off the cylinder head. If this engine came with a hand crank, I don’t have it. I have a forklift to load it. Any questions, call Jeff. This is a very hard to find original governor for a walking beam Alamo hit and miss gas engine. At least I’m pretty sure that’s what it’s for. If it isn’t please educate me! It might also work for some steam applications. Please do your homework to be sure it will work for you. It mounts with a half moon shelf about 4 3/8 inches long with two holes 2 5/15 inches apart on center. There is also a larger hole in the shelf. It stands about 10 1/4 inches tall overall. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs other than a bushing in the horizontal shaft housing. This should probably be redone as it is worn again. The gears are a bit worn but will last a good while yet. The vertical shaft and bearings are nice and tight with very little wear. Everything is nice and greasy and moves as it should. Other than the horizontal shaft there seems to be very little wear elsewhere. I can’t remember ever seeing another Alamo governor like this available so if you need one don’t miss it. Early Alamo parts of any kind are rather. Difficult to find in the wild or even at swap meets. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up and it probably won’t be this nice. This one is isn’t perfect but with a little elbow grease could be made perfect. It would surely beat making a complete governor! I can be reached at 262 573 1931 if you’d like to talk about it. This is an extremely hard to find original Webster magneto ignitor bracket for vertical International Harvester hit and miss gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs except for the recent JB Weld type repair on the roller bracket. This is hard to notice and could easily be recasted if you so choose. It is bracket number G-6665 and has the IHC logo cast into it. I’ve had a few of these over the years and this is the first one I’ve ever seen with an IHC part number on it. It mounts with two holes 3 inches apart on center. This bracket will fit the 2 and 3hp vertical engines and possibly the 5 and 6hp vertical engines but please measure your engine to be sure it fits your application. The magneto mounts on a 2 3/16 x 2 13/16 inch pattern so it would take a Webster JZ magneto. Everything moves and functions as it should. There is very little wear on the movable shaft and very little wear on the points. I believe it’s ready to be used on an engine or put on the shelf for a spare. If you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. They are incredibly tough to find… Let the pictures be your guide. You won’t be disappointed in any way.
