This is a very hard to find original Remy Dual Ignition battery/magneto coil switch for an early car, truck, tractor, or other engine. It is fresh from an old service garage estate where it lived in retirement for decades. The switch lever moves as it should as does the knob and key. The barrel is clearly marked for Battery, Magneto, and Off on the face. All in all it retains a lot of original patina and would look great on an original survivor vehicle. Take a look at the pictures and see what you think. These original coil switches are getting harder to find with each passing year so if you need one here’s a pretty nice one. Brass Cylinder Oiler for Hit Miss Engine. Oiler is in good condition and ready to use. Small surface chip on outside of viewing glass (see photos). Top nut is on very tight. Has vent tube and check ball. 8 1/2 tall tip to tip. 3 1/4″ diameter x 4″ tall. Very hard oiler to come by. I apologize for any inconvenience. Please feel free to call me with questions. The spark it produces can be observed by rubbing a wire from the terminal against the case of the mag while turning the shaft. It does have to be timed to the engine. Here is a nice original Maytag 72 Twin Cylinder. This one likes to start with one plug wire removed and grounded. Then after it’s running on one cylinder, reattach the other wire. This is fairly common on these twins. It also slings some gas out around the starter while running, this too is pretty common. It has the Eisemann magneto. Mounted to a custom wood skid. These Maytags can be a bit temperamental at times, but once you get it set right for starting, it will sit and run nicely. This one does seem to run slower than the other twins I’ve owned. I’m guessing the previous owner set it to run this way and it can probably be adjusted if you wish. I have decided to leave this engine in it’s “work clothes”, as far as refinishing. You can choose wether you’d like to restore it further or run it as it is. Looks like it has some original decals. I own several of these Maytags in my collection, and they are a great hobby. This would look great at an engine show, or just have it to teach the grandkids about history! Thanks for looking and feel free to ask any questions!
