DO NOT KNOW A LOT ABOUT THIS OLD ENGINE BUT OLDEST ONE STILL HAS A LITTLE BLUE PAINT ON BUT ALL FROZE MOUNTED ON ORIGINAL CART I TOOK PHOTOS IN HURRY WITH FLASH IT IS AMONG A OLD GARVELY WITH SOME ATTACTMENTS I HAVE A 1939 INTERNATIONAL ON NOW ALSO A 1926 THAT OWNER SAID RAN 12 YEARS AGO SPENT 150 TO HAVE MAG DONE.. Original CRETORS Steam Engine Popcorn Peanut Wagon Hit Miss Matching NOs #7582. Very nice and extremely hard to find original Cretors Steam Engine. This unit has all 3 matching numbers. It is serial number #7582. Has a nickel plated governor. On bottom of plate it has threaded hole for input of steam and the hole that is typically drilled. In base plate has not been drilled. It does not have a guage. It has some piping added later I believe coming from regulator. It appears that red paint was added to the frame which i believe was black. The Main wheel shaft has the gear and possible an added pulley. On the rear shaft mount there is a vertical mounting plate which I have no idea what it went attached there, but I have not been able to match it to any other units. Everything moves and turns smoothly. We have not attempted to clean, disassemble anything. The base plate is in excellent condition. I do not see any cracks or damage / repairs on any part of this. I’m no expert and i’m sure things like seals, etc, will have to be addressed. We never hooked it up to air or steam. Old Original CRETORS Steam Engine Popcorn Wagon Peanut Roaster Hit Miss NICE

This is an outstanding original example of a Cretors horizontal steam engine that was built in Chicago, IL, and originally used in one of their sidewalk popcorn wagons in the early 1900′s. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know of. It is the much harder to find nickle-plated version and measures about 10 x 22 x 11 1/2 inches tall overall. It has it’s original builders tag on the edge and is engine number 9424. It operates smoothly on air and everything movers and interacts as it should. It has the original flyball governor on it which is also marked Cretors. There is some rust on the bedplate but on the rest of the engine the plating is very solid. This is by far the nicest original Cretors that I have seen come to market in many years and would be a fine addition to your early steam engine display or collection. The pictures tell the story. You won’t be disappointed! I can deliver this for free (or a cold beverage) to LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, next year. Hit Miss Engine Cart. Wheels are 4 inches wide, 30 inches tall. Wheelbase is 95 inches long, 46 inches wide. All metal parts have been cleaned and painted with oil-based Rustoleum paint. All wooden parts are Red Oak with exterior varnish. I built this cart several years ago as part of a hit and miss engine display. This Listing is for. This has Been Restored with original parts. The replacement parts have been hand crafted using both the original processes as well as original resources. This fully functional hit and miss motor is Mounted onto a wooden cart (the only Part not Original) complete with antique steel wheels. This 4 HP motor has been used at engine shows while connected to a Grits mill, Cross Cut Saw, Oil Pumps, and other attachments.
