Here is a very nice Webster M low tension magneto. The bearings are perfect and it has very strong magnetism. The studs have been replaced and they are all tight in their holes but the mag body seems a little broken out around the are the enter the mag. It should work fine the way it is and you will not be able to see that area when it is installed on the igniter bracket on the engine. Please take a look at the pictures and see if you need it. SPECIAL NOTE this is a low tension mag and will not fire a spark plug! It is meant to be used with an igniter. The spark on a mag like this will not jump an air gap! I tested this mag by visually assessing the spark it produced while rubbing a bare wire against the body of the mag while turning the shaft with the springs off. The areas around the studs are broken or chipped but the studs are tight in their holes. Aluminum or white metal frame. 1-1/2″ x 2″ Mounting pattern, all the studs are tight in their holes. I try to list items very accurately but my opinions on condition may differ from yours. This item in a complex antique electronic mechanical unit. Please don’t act like a cave man and send me emails grunting “my friend mag guy says need rebuilt you pay he bill” or “I took apart now no fire I send back”. Most items will go out faster though. I have many good parts and pieces I will be listing in the next few months. I try to do a very good job of listing everything I sell in a very accurate manner to explain all the good and bad points with the pictures and in the description. So if someone doesn’t pay I will ban them from my listings and also tell all my friends who also sell engine parts on here who to watch out for. If you haven’t caught on this is supposed to be mildly funny but yet serious at the same time. If you decide you don’t want it or find another one cheaper you I won’t take it back. Magneto for hit miss engine. Magneto is in good condition and ready to use. Throws a nice blue spark. Bolt pattern 1 1/2″ X 2″. Threads all look good. No breaks, crack, or welds except on one oiling hole is chipped out doesn’t affect. I reserve the right to end item early for local sale. Very good used Webster Mag The springs are a little rusty, however they still work fine. The magneto has a nice blue spark. No longer need this one. I believe its an M, the bolt hole pattern is 2″ X 1-1/2″. One of the bolt holes is rounded out and needs repaired, The magnet needs charged which is how I bought it. Here is a Webster Podlasak Magneto as used on many early hit and miss engines. These were esp popular on the IHC Famous/Titan line, but were also used on other early engines. These mags are much rarer than the later Websters and really dress up an early engine! This one has been on the shelf in my collection for many years & I’m thinning out a few mags this winter. These don’t come up often so don’t miss it if you need one. The mag is complete and I don’t see any damage of any type on it. It does not turn, but hopefully that just means it’s not worn out. Here is a very rare piece! This J112 igniter bracket and Webster magneto fits a large Armstrong gas engine. You see few mag brackets around now and then, but you rarely see anything for an Armstrong. The Webster is the large size like you see on the bigger engines. I’ve kept this mag on the shelf for years as part of our collection, but I figured if anyone needed it for an Armstrong engine, it just as well go back in service. It is greasy and dirty, but I think everything on it is complete and seems to be in good shape. The mag is missing one screw, but that’s the only thing I can see gone. It even has the original starting trip lever. The Mag & igniter both move freely and I don’t see anything broken or repaired on either. The points look good and it even has the original terminal clip on the igniter and the original name band on the mag. These brackets are hard to find and this one is in good condition for being 100+ years old. Don’t miss it if you need one. Please check out my other engine parts auctions.
