This engine was found in northern Michigan many years ago by the man I bought it from. It is mounted on a heavy set of trucks with a nice tongue. This engine is in almost new condition mechanically, the compression is incredible, with zero blow by. The engine is very easy to start even with the super compression by using the intake valve, I can show the next owner how easy this engine is to start. Both flywheels run perfectly true and have no issues. The ignition is by battery and buzz coil (and spark plug), which is a very reliable system. Has a nice working oiler. Another great thing about this engine, is that there are NO cracks, breaks or welds. It is also a rare version in the fact that it has the kerosene burning attachment, which is currently the needle valve that is being used to run the engine. The gas tank is not original but certainly serves the purpose fine. The muffler is also not a Witte muffler, it’s an Economy muffler and looks and works just as good. Has the original nameplate. Pulley is small, but I guess is better than having no pulley at all. With the condition this engine is in, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s putting out more horse power than the 12 that it’s rated. This engine is ready to hit the shows or put in a full days work. Please watch the video below and see for yourself. Very strong firing, nice coasting engine with zero bad clunks or noises. This is not a small engine! If you have been looking for a big, early hit and miss to take to the shows this would certainly fit that bill. This engine is mechanically and cosmetically in nice shape. Compression is good, and all moving parts show normal wear. The only thing this engine is missing is the nameplate, but the serial number is on the end of the crank, so a new tag could be correctly stamped very easy. Serial number is #8067. The engine is mounted on a decent set of hardwood skids, and even has a battery box, you just need to drill the holes for your wires. The engine starts and runs excellent. Hits good and strong once and coats as it should. This engine is ready to work, or just show. The engine could use a new wrist pin and bushing, as you can hear in the video there is some wrist pin clunk, just a normal thing most old engines could use. Very nice working ball check oiler. Only weld I can see on this engine is the tab on the flywheel where the governor spring bolt sets in, it’s not a weld I would worry about in the least bit. Paint may or may not be original, I will let you be the judge. Flywheels run perfectly true. Gas tank is built into the base and there are no gas leaks, or water leaks anywhere. The engine is in really nice shape mechanically, starts easy on the magneto and will run all day long. I have only owned the engine about a week, and I have ran it probably no less than 15 hours. Runs so good I just let it run all day. There are no cracks, breaks or welds anywhere on this engine that I have been able to find. Fuel pump looks and works like new, this engine never has trouble keeping the gas level right up there in the carb. NO gas or water leaks anywhere. No knocks, clunks, or bad noises with this engine. Governor works perfectly, if you put a load on it, she’ll snap right to it. Original nameplate and original muffler. Pulley isn’t correct but works just as good. Original crankcase breather, and original key guard. No starting crank, but I start it just by spinning the flywheels by hand. Great working original ignitor. There really isn’t anything on this engine you can knock, it’s a real good example of a 1hp Mogul. Whoever ends up with will be quite happy. Ready for the shows. This engine is in excellent mechanical condition, and is equipped with the factory, high tension magneto setup. Compression is very good. Mag produces a good spark. Engine starts and runs very well, as you can see in the video. Only flaw with the engine is about a 1/8 or less wobble on the pulley side flywheel. The flywheel is in great shape and nice and tight on the crank, I see nothing wrong, it will never give you any trouble. The air shroud is a nice handmade reproduction and looks nice. There are NO cracks, breaks or welds on this engine that I can find. Not many New Way Jewels out there especially with the magneto. Would make a great addition to any collection. Comes with a good working starting crank (not original). We are 100 miles north of Detroit. This engine belongs to a good friend, just down the road. This model is in great shape, I believe these were made in the late 80′s or early 90′s for a short time. Everything seems to be in working order, no cobbled parts, everything is just how it should be. Buzz coil and gas tank are mounted underneath the skid. Just hook your battery to the terminals on the top by the on/off switch which also works great. I had it running for about a half hour yesterday, both on gas and propane. Runs on both but I prefer propane myself. Nice high quality model to set on the shelf, or take to the shows. Comes with the propane regulator and hose you can see in video. This model doesn’t have many hours on it. Could use some minor adjusting here or there but for the most part it’s show ready. Bare metal parts are nice and shiny, no rust. It is mounted on a homemade cart but it is a very well built one, and works great. Good gas tank, no leaks, and no water leaks either. Comes fully equipped with a battery and coil. Has the correct, good working Fairbanks oiler on it, with the female pipe threads. Original crank guard is on it and in very nice shape. The muffler is not correct but works very nice. Has the original tin battery box and original nameplate. NO welds on the engine! Knife switch on the battery box works just as it should, and so does the speed control lever for the governor. This engine is ready to work or play. This is truly ready to hit the shows tomorrow, just need gas and oil. I ran it today on a half tank of gas for almost 10 hours!! I can also store it here for up to 6 months, for no charge as long as it’s paid for. The engine has almost zero wear, every pin and bushing is nice and tight with no slop. You can even seen the original factory machining marks in the bore yet! Looks to have a rebuilt Wico EK magneto on it, if it’s not rebuilt it’s just as good as rebuilt. Start easy, and runs perfect. No clunks, knocks or bad noises with this one. NO welds or issues. Mounted on non-original skids but they serve the purpose fine. Green wagon in pictures is not included in sale! You don’t come across engines in this condition every day, so if you are into all original farm fresh engines, here is your chance. Pulley side of engine has awesome original paint and the decal is basically fully intact. Magneto side decal is a little more faded but still very nice. I ran the engine for about 6 hours the other day and it never missed a beat. Flywheels run straight as an arrow. Factory muffler and pulley. Good gas tank, no leaks. No water leaks either. I can also store it here for up to 6 months, for no charge as long as it’s paid for. Very nice example of a 6hp Novo built in Lansing, MI. This engine was built in 1924. The engine is in very good shape mechanically and the only weld is an old freeze crack repair under the Novo decal, but it’s a very good looking weld. NO other repairs or issues. It is mounted on a nice hardwood platform skid, with heavy duty swivel casters. Comes with the original Novo starting crank and factory hopper cover. Wico EK magneto looks to have been rebuilt, and it throws a great spark. Compression is very strong and the engine runs great. Fuel pump does it’s job just like it should as well, keeps the gas right up in the carb as it’s supposed to. Flywheels run true, and there are no issues there either. Only thing it may need is a shim taken out of the rod cap, there is a small clunk when it runs and I’m quite sure it’s not a wrist pin clunk, should only take a few minutes to take a shim out of the cap. This engine will run nice and slow, it almost stops before it fires. If you have been looking for a good 6hp Novo, or a large vertical hit & miss, here is your chance. Muffler is a pepop for an early Economy engine, but looks great. This is not a small engine. I ran the engine for about 3 hours the other day and it never missed a beat. I can also store it here for up to 6 months, for no charge as long as it’s paid for. The engine is mechanically almost perfect, very strong holding compression and very minimal wear on all the moving parts. Only thing missing is the crankguard. Only flaw with this engine is a small hairline crack in the pulley side flywheel. It was caused by somebody driving the key in too far. The crack is only about an inch and a half in total length and it does NOT travel all the way across the flywheel hub to the back, it traveled up a spoke and stopped. The crankcase side of the hub is not cracked. Flywheel has a minor 1/8-1/4 wobble. The flywheel is not loose on the crank, its nice and tight, I honestly don’t think it needs any attention, should be just fine as it is. The engine runs great, super hot PR Wico magneto. Even the nameplate is original and in great shape. Comes with a good working oiler. There are NO other cracks breaks or welds on this engine, and none on the pump or cart either! I pumped water with it for about 5 minutes the other night and then it puked out a handful of acorn chunks and stopped pumping, it needs a good flushing, squirrels must have got into the pipes, very minor thing I just didn’t take the time to flush the pump out. This engine doesn’t need anything to be show ready, just some gas and oil! It is mounted on a great looking cart probably a 100+ year old industrial cart of some kind, very well, and heavy made. I ran the engine for about 5 hours the other day and it never missed a beat. I can also store it here for up to 6 months, for no charge as long as it’s paid for.
