Welcome to Grandpas Garage today you are looking at a Hit Miss air engine old two cylinder antique steam paddle wheel very nice and works. As can be seen this is a very neat old motor and was hand made for shows. As can be seen in photos this motor is 6″ tall 5 1/2″ by 3 3/4″ base and the wheel stand is 5″ wide by 5″ with 7″ by 31/2 paddle. I put the Bic lighter in the photo so you could see the size of the unit in one piece. Up for sale is a really super nice and rare circa 1890 Ames Iron Works stationary steam engine. The engine is rated at 10 horse power. It has a absolutely amazing 2 inch gardener governor. Nothing on the engine is stuck, seized or broken. The engine looks completely original and intact and unmolested! It has a nice large pulley (I believe its 2 foot diameter). It has a tag from General Machinery in Philadelphia which is most likely the place where it was originally installed. I can hold the engine for an extended period of time. To anyone that was wondering: The photos were taken when I had the engine at a local show. That’s the reason for all of the stuff noticeable in the background.
