The auto sparker is patented on feb 6 1900 the last patent is march 10 1903.. From what i can find out it is for assisting starting up old stationary gas engines, i believe. This one is missing a bunch of parts that i can surmise from searching the internet. The good points are that it exists and the arbor spins freely and it is not too beat up. And according to what i have found. This example of, the auto sparker has the original leather fly/pulley wheel. The previous owner used this example as a display. The previous owner mounted it on a metal plate and the eye hook he hung it from the ceiling joints in the garage.. The auto sparker is untested. I do not know if it works. Please see pictures for condition and what parts are and are not present. Any information will be appreciated. This auto sparker weighs about 18 pound as pictured.
