Brass #5 Cylinder Oiler for Hit Miss Engine. Oiler is in good condition and ready to use. Nickel Plated Brass #5. 8 tall tip to tip. Has vent tube and check piece in bottom. 3″ diameter x 3 1/8″ tall. No breaks, chips or cracks in the glass. Please feel free to call me with questions. However the metal is thick enough to work with if you’re going for a old vintage look, with a lot of work and time it could be saved. For your consideration is an original HEAD with VALVES for a spark plug 3hp Fairbanks Morse Z throttle governed, Hit Miss Old stationary type Gas Engine. The exhaust port threads are in fair condition. The 1/2 NPT spark plug threads appear to be in good shape. The valves move, they have a a little play in the guides, they may need lapped or attention I’m not guaranteeing them on anything. The mounting bolts are about 4-1/4 apart on centers. It’s about a 7-1/2 diameter outside circle. The carburetor mounting bolt holes are about 3-1/4 on center. It has a hard to notice repair on the water jacket (as many do), which can be seen in the pics. It’s painted green. This is an original cast iron piston and connecting rod assembly for a 1 1/2 or 2hp Hercules or Economy hit and miss gas engine. It may fit other models or sizes so please do your homework to be sure it fits your application. It is in good condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind except for the boss for the wrist pin set screw which can be relocated to the other side. The wrist pin bushing needs to be replaced and the rod bearing is missing but is available from several of the hobby suppliers. The piston measures about 3 1/4 inches in diameter and about 4 1/4 inches long. It is about 2 1/8 inches from the top to the center of the 5/8 inch diameter wrist pin hole. Please measure your engine to be sure it works for your application. These original parts are quite tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets! If you’ve been looking for one to complete a restoration or to replace your broken or repaired one here’s your chance. The pictures tell the story. It would surely beat making one!
