This is a rather scarce if not rare original 1hp Monitor farm engine made by the Baker Manufacturing Company in Evansville, Wisconsin. It is the early version with the canteen style gas tank and spark plug straight up. It is in excellent original condition and retains a large portion of it’s original paint as can be seen. It has very little wear on the gearing or in the bearings. It turns over nicely with good compression and although I haven’t run it I’m sure it won’t take much to make noise. The flywheel has a chipped crank holder as I’ve pointed out and the intake valve cage has a crack through one of the mounting holes. Neither of these issues will affect the engine running but I wanted to point them out. Included in the sale is a replacement flywheel with a good crank holder and also a valve cage if you’d like to replace them. I can deliver this for free to Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year. It can also be picked up here. I can be reached at 262 573 1931 if you’d like to talk about it. The pictures tell the story. Nice originals like this don’t come along very often so don’t miss your chance on it. You won’t be disappointed in any way.
