This is the infamous Side Exhaust model 92 Mayag. Introduced in 1927 the model 92 used a exhaust elbow that earned its nick name as the side exhaust. There are many other small features that define the early engines. This engine has all of them. This engine has been thoroughly reconditioned inside. The carburetor was fully rebuilt getting all it needed to make it a fully reconditioned component. The ignition system also received a total reconditioning. The coil was thoroughly dried out and the points assembly disassembled, cleaned reconditioned and reassembled. The condenser was tested and installed and all the other ignition parts reconditioned. And lastly the braker contacts assembly was positioned with the original factory points location gage. The connecting rod was in pretty good condition but I decided to resize the rods large end while it was apart. The crankshaft was thoroughly cleaned and polished. The rings were in very good condition so they were reused, and the cylinder was cleaned of carbon and the glaze was broke on the cylinder walls and sanded to allow the rings to reseat themselves. A new kill switch was installed. The pull rod was aged to make it blend with the rest of the engine. I decided to recondition the engine and retain the original look of a vintage engine. It has had a full tank of fuel run through it and it runs like a dream. I have a video posted on face book of it running. Serial number is in the 255XXX range.
