This is a very hard to find original 3/4 Gardner steam engine governor. It could also work for a gas engine. It is in excellent, used condition just as found from an old collector’s estate. Everything moves as it should and it has very little wear on the the gears. It has some very mild wear on the shaft and should work fine just the way it is. All of the internals are in the steam chest. It stands about 17 inches tall and mounts with 3/4 npt threads that are in great shape as can be seen. It has the original drive pulley on it. The manual speed change lever works as it should. The screw type speed changer on the other side (I think it’s called the ball ranger) has been broken and missing but the nipple still retains the ball and moves freely. I’m sure this would be a fairly easy piece to find from a parts governor or easily made. These original governors are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you need one for a project don’t miss your chance on this one.
