This is an original cam gear and cam shaft for an early 3hp Fairbanks Morse Z gas engine. It is for the earlier style engines that used a Sumter Plugoscillator magneto for ignition so do your homework to be sure it is for your application. It may also work on the rotary magneto engines but I think the cam lobe may be different. It is in good used condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know of except that an addition was made to the side of the cam to convert the engine to spark plug ignition. This protrusion could easily be removed. There is some were in the high spot on one edge of the cam that could also be remedied quite easily. The gear measures about 7 3/16 inches in diameter with a 5/8 inch face. It is abou 3 inches long through the 3/4 inch bore. It has 70 teeth and they are in great shape. If you’ve been looking for one to complete a restoration because yours is missing, broken, or repaired here is a decent one. The pictures tell the story.
