This is a nice original Michigan Model 495 oiler for a hit and miss gas engine. It has a vent tube and a check ball in the base which means it was made to oil the cylinder of an engine. It measures about 2 1/2 inches in diameter and about 5 1/2 inches tall. Both glasses are good and everything seems to function as it should. The 3/8 npt threads and wrench hex are in good shape. This oiler has nice original patina and should be ready for use. It would also make a great spare on the shelf for a future project. These oilers were used on some Fairbanks Morse and Fuller and Johnson engines and are actually pretty hard to find! The pictures tell the story.
