Here is a nice Webster L magneto. It is very hot and in good shape. There is a slight amount of wear. There is very slight amount of armature drag when the springs are taken off and the armature is turned. That shouldn’t hurt anything, the magneto should work for many years to come. Please take a look at the pictures and decide if you need it. SPECIAL NOTE: This is a low tension magneto, it is meant to work with an igniter and will not produce at spark that will jump an air gap. It will not work with a spark plug. The spark it produces can be observed by rubbing a wire from the terminal against the case of the mag while turning the shaft. It does have to be timed to the engine. 2″ x 2″ mounting pattern. All the studs are in are tight in their holes. Small amount of wear, very slight armature drag that shouldn’t hurt anything. For questions 419 789 1159. I think I list items very accurately but my opinion on condition may differ from yours. In my opinion this is a great magneto. If you have any questions about how to use it on your engine please ask. Don’t be a clown and tear it all apart and then try to return it when you can’t get it to work. Here is a very nice looking Webster M low tension magneto. I played around with it for a little bit and I can only get it to make a very minimal spark. Other than the lack of spark it is absolutely great shape and far better than most like it. It has the trip roller with advance and retard built in which is a rare thing. All the studs are tight in their holes! Please take a look at the pictures and see if you need it. For questions 419 789 1159. SPECIAL NOTE this is a low tension mag and will not fire a spark plug! It is meant to be used with an igniter. The spark on a mag like this will not jump an air gap! I tested this mag by visually assessing the spark it produced while rubbing a bare wire against the body of the mag while turning the shaft with the springs off. It made only a very minimal spark compared to other mags similar to it. Has trip roller with advance retard built in. Excellent shape but only has a very minimal spark. May need new coils, will probably not run an engine as is. Aluminum or white metal frame. No bearing wear can be felt. Armature spins without any drag when the springs are taken off. 1-1/2″ x 2″ Mounting pattern, all the studs are tight in their holes. No cracking can be seen on frame at all. There are some very slight chips around the edges of the bearing plates that will not hurt a thing. I try to list items very accurately but my opinions on condition may differ from yours. Very hard to find brass bodied Webster JY magneto as used on some of the IHC Famous/Titan engines and several others. Magneto is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It has very slight bearing wear and oscillates smoothly. It has hot, snapping spark and very light wear on the trip finger but a piece of stock has been added to it that could easily be removed. It mounts on a 2 7/16 x 2 13/16 hole pattern and the threads are in perfect shape. It has nice old patina or you could clean it if you’d like. It also has the original name band on it. It is ready to go to work on an engine or put on your shelf a spare. These brass bodied Websters are so much nicer than the diecast bodied ones. Let the pictures be your guide. You’ll like it. Threads all look good. 1/2 diameter locator pin included. Nice original part, came off a running engine. Condition: The bracket has been repaired along the roller arm. Webster Type “K” BRASS Body HOT Magneto. Magneto is in good condition and ready to use. 4 bolt mounting 2″ x 2″. Throws a nice blue spark. One of the corners of the brass bottom has a small chip – see photos. Two of the thread holes have been repaired with epoxy – see photos. Band at top has been replaced.
