Here’s a pretty nice 1 1/2hp Fairbanks Morse Z with a Bosch AB-34 magneto. It is in great shape with no cracks, breaks, or repairs other than a little hiccup on the head which could easily be blended. It needs a gas tank and a muffler which are readily available as reproductions. It has the original crank guard and pulley which are often missing. It has decent compression even after sitting for many years. And shouldn’t take much to make noise again. I can deliver for free to Portland, IN, Coolspring, PA, or Baraboo, WI, later this year. Here is a complete governor bracket assembly for a 2-1/2hp to 12hp Hercules and Economy engines. It appears to be in good original shape. Take a look at the pictures and see if you need it. Original Part, no cracks, breaks, or welds. Some wear but nothing that should be a concern. This should fit most all the Hercules and Economy engines 2-1/2hp to 12hp. Mounts to the engine with two bolt holes 2 apart on center. The bolt that is holding the speed control lever on is not original. Most items will go out faster though. I have many good parts and pieces I will be listing in the next few months. I try to do a very good job of listing everything I sell in a very accurate manner to explain all the good and bad points with the pictures and in the description. So if someone doesn’t pay I will ban them from my listings and also tell all my friends who also sell engine parts on here who to watch out for. If you haven’t caught on this is supposed to be mildly funny but yet serious at the same time. If you decide you don’t want it or find another one cheaper you I won’t take it back. This is an old 1 1/2hp International Harvester Type M gas engine. It has been in a collection for many years. It will need a full restoration and is missing some parts as you can see. The head has a broken push rod holder but the piece is in the hopper. It also has a broken governor yoke and repaired pulley side flywheel. There is also a slight crack on the air intake. There is no piston in it but a connecting rod and cap are included. The flywheels turn as they should. It would be a pretty straightforward project and M parts are quite readily available. Here’s a nice SATTELY 1 1/2hp hit and miss engine. Has a good Wico EK on it and starts easy and runs great. Nothing missing except the gas tank and the only thing that I can see is an old little crack in the head, I think, that someone put JB weld or something in. It’s never gotten hot enough when I run for me to ever put water in it. Just choke it a time or two, crank the flywheels and it’s running. Is for sale locally so it might go away. Here is a pretty nice old 1 1/2hp John Lauson Model W hit and miss gas engine. It is fresh from an old collection where it lived for many years. It is in great shape with no cracks, breaks or repairs other than an old repair on the ignitor trip block and part of the serial tag missing. It turns over nicely with good compression. There seems to be very little wear on the gearing or in the bearings. It has a very unique fuel mixer or carburetor on it which was only on the earliest Model W engines. It has the original pulley and crankguard on it. It is also ignitor fired which makes it a bit unusual. It has the original gas tank in between the original skids. I think there’s a good amount of original paint under the repaint if you’d choose to unrestore the engine. I think with some fresh gas and a battery and coil this engine would fire right up. It would be a fine addition to your early hit and miss engine collection or Lauson display. The pictures tell the story. You’ll like it. Scarce 1 1/2hp Fairbanks Morse Plugoscillator engine with serial tag on the head. These were made for about a year. Barn fresh from an old collection. Engine is loose but will need some attention. Rod bearing is rough as is crank gear. Another set of flywheels on a crankshaft with an excellent gear goes with it. The cam gear needs a bushing. It is missing the mag and bracket but these are findable parts… It is on the original skids but will need a new gas tank. There are two threaded holes in the hopper that need to be filled but there are no other breaks or repairs that I can see or know of. This could be a pretty good engine with just a little elbow grease! This engine should be a pretty straightforward project and would be a fine addition to your early hit and miss type engine collection or Fairbanks Morse display. The pictures tell the story. Barn fresh from an old collection and has never been messed with! Nice original 2 1/2hp Hercules Model S. Mostly complete with lots of original paint and decal. Engine is stuck but I doubt very badly as the piston is near the bottom and nothing is crusty. No cracks, breaks, or repairs other than one on the rear magneto cover. Engine seems to have very little wear as there is paint on the gear teeth and also on the head yet! The wheels run true with no wobble. This is a fairly rare one as it is a model “FW” and I understand that they made very few of them. It has all original paint that was completely covered with dirt and grease when I found it barn find! Mag [Wico EK] was bad so I replaced it with a good “hot” one. Oiler was found broken and is now FIXED AND WORKING [see last pic]. Engine is set up to run nice and slow but I do have the orig. Governor spring that will go with it. Comes with crank handle. Truly a sweet little engine that’s a easy haul to the shows! Please study the pictures well as they are a major part of the description and do show you its great condition.
