For your consideration is an original Crankguard for a 3HP Fairbanks Morse Z Hit Miss Gas Engine. Its about 4-1/8″ wide overall where it bolts to the cylinder, about 5-7/16″ wide on the guard at the bottom base and about 6-1/8″ wide on the extension, 5-9/16″ wide in the center, it’s just under 17-3/8 long from end to end in the center of the actual guard. Crank Guard for 3HP Fairbanks “Z”. Crank guard is in good condition and ready to use. 3HP Fairbanks Morse Z. Sits inside the base (5 1/2″ W) at rear and bolts on the back of hopper (4 3/8″ W) toward the front. The middle of the guard measures 5 1/2 W. Its about 17 1/4 measured end to end straight through. This is a real nice reproduction cast iron crankguard or fender for a 2 1/2hp Simplicity hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind as it is a brand new reproduction casting. It will need the three mounting holes drilled to fit your engine. It mounts on a shelf that is 7 1/8 inches wide overall and the guard is about 14 7/8 inches long overall. Please measure your engine to be sure it works for your application. These cast iron crankguards are rather tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets and they’re so often missing so if you need one here’s your chance! The pictures tell the story. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind as can be seen. It measures about 7 x 22 inches and sits in the back lip of the crankcase and mounts with one hole to the tab on the back of the hopper. Please measure your engine to be sure it works for your application. It has some very minor separation on the left end of the mounting lip as I’ve shown but this will not hinder its performance at all. These original crankguards are extremely tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets and they’re so often missing so if you need one here’s your chance! The pictures tell the story.
