Looking to place these items in new homes – described with what I and the owner know about them. This is a unique one! This is an original John Deere Stationary Engine, number 270-333 as marked on the plate, and it has been in storage for a good number of years in his shop. Piece dates to 1927 and many folks locally think it probably ran a water well or some other such application back in the day. The unique part of this piece is you can still see the original lettering graphics for John Deere on each side of the cooling tank. My guess is that it would probably clean up pretty nice with some work and some elbow grease. I did turn the crank on it a number of times and you do get some compression resistance at regular intervals, but that is all that is known – no idea how that compression is or if it needs parts or work. Neat item that you don’t often see in this condition for sale – keep as it is and get it running or fully restore and show it. Item is located in Watseka, IL (about 1.5 hours south of Chicago, Illinois and about 15 miles from the Illinois and Indiana border). Please call before coming. THIS IS AN ORIGINAL JOHN DEERE 1 1/2 H. HIT AND MISS ENGINE SITTING ON AN ORIGINAL JOHN DEERE CARRY CART AND MANUFACTURED IN 1928. IT IS IN ALL ORIGINAL CONDITION AND RAN PERFECTLY LAST TIME DISPLAYED IN 2014. IT MAY HAVE BEEN RESTORED AT SOME TIME, BUT IT IS IN THE SAME CONDITION AS WHEN WE BOUGHT IT 15 YEARS AGO. This engine was restored was 2 years ago and runs like a champ. It was done right with: new valves, new rings, new bearings (rod and mains), rebuilt ignitor using new parts, new gas tank, new oil pan, new gaskets and seals, and the mag was rebuilt from McWhorters. Carb was rebuilt with new fuel lines and check valve. This engine has no cracks or leaks. The cart is a John Deere reproduction and works nicely. Starts easily at the shows and runs very smooth and well balanced. I currently have too many engines and projects in play so this one is on the block. It’s your responsibility to arrange Fastenal, I just deliver to the store. The store nearest me is in Dubuque Iowa located on Cedar Cross Road. As another option I have had customers pay me an additional amount to deliver to them and this greatly depends on location and the time. Personal pick-up at my residence is the final option. My Wife Wants This Out of the Kitchen! Antique John Deere 1-1/2 hp Stationary Gasoline farm engine on skids. New restoration & paint & cart. Has a replacement gas tank. Runs well – no breaks or cracks found during restoration. The cart needs a tongue – should not be a big deal for you to do that. I prefer cash on pick-up at my house. Acquired this engine restored it new rings, ground valves gasket kit New fuel tank oaks skids. Real antique John Deere green found a can of an unopened from the 80s needs an igniter and a mag and a couple of springs for the operation. Antique 1911 Waterloo Boy 2 1/2 hp. Hit and miss engine on Waterloo cart. Twenty years ago the previous owner had it bored and sleeved, with new rings, and crank. Two wheels on the cart have old repairs and all the wheels are a bit wobbly with age but cart pulls nice and is solid. I would guess that the head has an old repair, lower left side, but not sure on that either, starts easy and runs great, (sure on that) crank guard is a reproduction.
