Here is a Wizard Model B1 friction magneto. I think it was originally meant to be driven off an old gas engine flywheel and meant to be used to make power for the ignition system. An engine cannot start off a generator like this but it can take the place of batteries once the engine is running. Please take a look at the pictures and see if you need it. Would look excellent on your engine or in you man cave! The bearings have a little wear but nothing that will hurt anything. The shaft is bent just a tiny bit so the friction wheel wobbles a slight amount. I hooked it up to a 12 volt battery and it took off right away and spun just as it should. Two mounting holes 4-13/16 apart on center. This is a heavy item, it weighs 13 lbs before any box and packing material. I try to list items very accurately but my opinions on condition may differ from yours. This item in a complex antique electronic mechanical unit. Please don’t act like a cave man and send me emails grunting “my friend mag guy says need rebuilt you pay he bill” or “I took apart now now it no work I send back”. Most items will go out faster though. I have many good parts and pieces I will be listing in the next few months. I try to do a very good job of listing everything I sell in a very accurate manner to explain all the good and bad points with the pictures and in the description. Very nice Hendricks Novelty large brass friction dynamo used on some hit and miss engines. I have seen this type of friction dynamo on the Galloway engines. I bought this dynamo from a magneto restorer years ago and it has been on my self collecting dust. I would believe that this dynamo can be installed as is and used for power to an igniter engine. I do not see any damage to this dynamo. It is original and because of this it has patina. The magnets show some rust pitting. The insulators show some age. The shaft bushings feel solid and the armature turns freely. The governor works as it should. It has some rust on the plate that holds the friction wheel leaters. Here is a very nice Apple Igniter Dynamo made by the Dayton Electric Co. It is a very nice unit. It originally meant to be driven off an old gas engine flywheel and meant to be used to make power for the ignition system. Please take a look at the pictures and see if you need it. Serial No 50540 (It is painted inside the front cover, that is original). About 10-3/4″ long, 5-3/4″ wide, 5-3/4 tall. No bearing wear can be felt. I hooked up to a 12 volt battery and it spun right away just like it should. This is a heavy item, it weighs 22 lbs before any box and packing material. Here is a very nice Motsinger Auto Sparker. It is a very nice unit with original paint and some pin striping. I think the was originally meant to be driven off an old gas engine and meant to be used to make power for the ignition system. An engine cannot start off a generator like this but it can take the place of batteries once the engine is running. There is a wire missing from the top coil to one set of the brushes. It would be very easy to attach a new wire to that coil with some solder. I ran it but just used a jumper wire to the brushes. Please take a look at the pictures and see if you need it. Needs one wire replaced. Would look excellent on your engine or in you man cave! About 11″ long, 10-3/4″ wide, 6-1/4 tall. The bearings only have the slightest amount of wear. I hooked up to a 12 volt battery and it spun right away just like it should. This is a heavy item, it weighs 23 lbs before any box and packing material. This is an extremely hard to find original KW lighting generator or dynamo for an early tractor, car, or truck. These were pricey aftermarket items to add headlights to your early prairie tractor or car or truck. It might also be able to be used as an ignition dynamo for an early hit and miss gas engine. It is a belt driven dynamo or you could adapt some sort of friction pulley onto the shaft to be flywheel driven. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind except for some slight delamination of one magnet which is common on KW magnets. This won’t affect anything and is cosmetic only. It is a model SA with 3 magnets. There is almost no noticeable wear in the bearings. It turns smoothly with excellent magnetic pull. I checked it just before I took the pictures and it puts out excellent voltage. It is on the original brass or bronze base and mounts on a 2 x 4 inch bolt pattern. The mounting brackets are slotted to keep the correct belt tension. It will need a drive pulley but this should be a pretty straightforward project or you may have a spare on the parts shelf. These generators hardly ever turn up in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It is an extremely nice one that needs nothing other than a pulley or friction wheel. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up! It would also make a great spare on the shelf. This is an extremely hard to find original KW lighting generator or dynamo for an early tractor, car, or truck. It might also be able to be used as an ignition dynamo for an early hit and miss gas engine. It is a belt driven dynamo and has the original pulley on it yet. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind except for a small chip in the lip of the pulley. It is a model LS with 3 magnets. There is almost no noticeable wear in the bearings. It turns smoothly with excellent magnetic pull. I checked it just before I took the pictures and it puts out excellent voltage. It is on the original brass, spring-loaded, hinged bracket to keep tension on the driving belt.
