This is an extremely hard to find and very nice original belt-driven Schaeffer and Budenberg tachometer for a steam engine, gas engine, generator, dynamo, or other early piece of machinery. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know of. It turns as it should with no unknown noises and was used by a previous owner on a small steam engine. It doesn’t have a recent calibration but I’d bet it is pretty accurate as it seems to have great care given to it! It has 6 inch diameter face and overall it is about 10 inches long and about 8 inches tall. The gauge itself rotates on a pin with a set screw to adjust it for ease of viewing. It has a nickel plated oil cup on it which I believe to be original. It mounts with three holes on a 6 3/4 inch diameter cast iron base. I believe this tachometer is ready to be used or put in your early mechanical device display or collection. These old tachometers are extremely difficult to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. For sale is an Original Barn Fresh Delco 850 watt unit. It is a very clean unit with very low hours. If you look at the valve springs they look like they are new! I have had this unit running, I just dont believe that I had the correct battery setup for it to stay running by itself. This would be a great addition to anyones collection. This is a real nice older restoration Delco 850 32 volt light plant. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know of other than some fiberglass type repairs on the ends of the gas tank. It turns over nicely with excellent compression and I’m sure it wouldn’t take much to make noise as it was a running engine not long ago! It has the coil cover and also the cylinder head cover as can be seen. It also has the original Delco gauge. This would be a great addition to your old engine collection or display. I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year. It can stay here as long as needed as long as it’s paid for. This is a real nice original belt driven generator that would be a great display running with your hit and miss gas engine! I believe it was made by Fairbanks Morse and is 32V DC but I have no way to tell other than it was with a Fairbanks Morse engine that matched it at the sale where I bought it. If you can educate me please do! The 3 wires have the original aluminum wrap labels on them but I don’t know what they mean. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It turns over nicely with no noticeable bearing wear. The brushes and all of the internals look to be in good shape and there is very little noticeable wear on the armature. I believe it is ready to be used again. It measures about 11 inches in diameter so it is a nice, manageable size. It has a v-belt pulley on it but this could easily be removed to put on a flat belt pulley. I can deliver this for free (or a cold beverage) to Coolspring, PA, Baraboo, WI, or Portland, IN, later this year. It can stay here as long as needed as long as it’s paid for. Very nice original Motsinger auto sparker generator. It is complete with the governor, drive pulley and base which is missing a lot of the times. Used but in very clean condition. Appears to have the original paint. The field coils are not torn and all hardware is there. Does not appear to have been tinkered with either. Does not appear to have much wear. It turns over but is stiff from hardened oil. Notice the commutator is like new too! These were claimed to be a battery replacement on stationary gas engines. It was driven by the flywheel and at starting rpms, could produce enough voltage to fire the spark or igniter coil. Once the engine was running, the governor would maintain a certain tension against the flywheel to keep the voltage constant on the generator. Cleaned up would make a great display or even better, fit it to that special engine of yours. The sparker weighs about 30 pounds!
