Crank Guard for 6HP Fairbanks “Z”. Crank guard is in good condition and ready to use. Came off a running engine. About 6 3/4″ at the base and 5 3/4″ at the front. Sits inside the base at rear and bolts on the back of hopper toward the front. Its about 21 1/2 measured end to end straight through. Nice original RARE part. Mounting screw hole may have been repaired. In my opinion, if there has been a repair, it will not effect the ability to mount the guard. The lip inside the base has been bent, but does appear to have been broken off. I apologize for any inconvenience. Please feel free to call me with questions. Here is an original crank guard for a 1-1/2hp FM Headless gas engine. These are really difficult to find. There is a very small crack in the side and by one of the mounting holes. It will work fine as is or would be super easy to fix with a wire welder. Most of these crank guards have a little cracks in those areas if you look close enough. Check out the pictures and see if you need it. 2 Mounting holes 4-7/8 apart on center. Slight cracks, use as is or easy fix. Measures 10-3/8 long end to end straight through (not along the curve). This is a very nice original crank guard or splash shield for an old Fairbanks Morse Headless gas engine. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind and has some very heavy paint on it. It mounts with two holes to the crankcase of the engine. These original crankguards are rather tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets and many of them are missing. If you’ve been looking for one to complete a restoration here’s your chance. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It mounts with two ears about 7 1/2 inches apart on center but this is a bit arbitrary as the ears can move in or out to accommodate the engine’s bolt pattern. It has some mild pitting which won’t affect anything. These original crankguards are rather tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets and many of them are missing. This is a real nice original crank guard or splash shield for a larger Nelson Brothers hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. At least I’m pretty sure it’s Nelson Bros… If it isn’t please educate me! It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It is about 6 1/8 inches wide and about 17 inches long. It is part number A-60 and mounts with one hole in the back of the crankcase of the engine. These original crankguards are rather tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets and many of them are missing. If you’ve been looking for one to complete a restoration here’s your chance.
