This is an old Webster Model K 2-bar or magnet magneto for an old hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. It is fresh from an old collectors estate and will need some minor attention at the least to be used. It has a brass body which is so much better than the diecast base versions. It is missing some small parts and fasteners as can be seen. It mounts on a 2 x 2 inch square pattern and all four of the mounting holes are in great shape with the original studs in them yet. It has almost no noticeable wear in the bearings. It has a chipped oiler hole on the front cover which can be seen in the pictures. I checked it and it does have a weak spark would likely benefit from a good cleaning and magnet charge. The trip finger is in great shape with very little wear. This would be a good usable magneto with just a little elbow grease. Let the pictures be your guide and decide if you need it. Nice older restoration 1hp IHC Famous hit and miss gas engine. This is the smallest in the IHC Famous lineup. Excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than the main bearing cap on the governor side. This could easily be ground to match the other side. Good gearing and bearings and decent compression. It has the original and correct belt pulley on it. Early engine with the bronze rod. Muffler is rusted and not correct. This was a running engine not long ago so it should take little more than some fresh gas and a battery/coil to make noise. I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year. It can stay here as long as needed as long as it’s paid for. Pretty nice original 2hp United Type A hit and miss gas engine. It has a good amount of original paint but someone got a little close with some silver paint that I think would remove fairly easily. Engine has decent compression and was a running engine not long ago. It as the large magneto on it as can be seen. It is missing the crank guard and muffler which are available as reproductions. I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year. It can stay here as long as needed as long as it’s paid for. This is a pretty decent old 1 1/2hp Hercules hit and miss gas engine. It is in good shape with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than a missing choke plate. It appears that restoration was started as seen by the primer but the green paint is original paint. I’m not sure if the original paint is under the primer but I suspect it is. It is quite smooth like the flywheels. The valves have been redone but need to be lapped in. The head gasket and ignitor gaskets are new. The magneto and ignitor have good spark. It turns over as it should and there is very little wear on the gearing. It needs the rod bearing taken up but there are shims to remove. The original crank guard is on it. It will need a gas tank and a muffler as can be seen but these are available rather inexpensively as reproductions. With just a little effort this will be a really nice engine. It basically needs a going through. I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to Baraboo,, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year. This is a rather hard to find original Webster magneto ignitor bracket for a Stover hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. It is bracket number 303K25 and is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It has almost no wear and appears to have been used very little and everything works as it should. It mounts with two holes 3 inches apart on center and the magneto mounts on a 2 x 2 inch square pattern. The points are like new and this bracket is ready to go to work on an engine! The pictures tell the story. These original Stover Webster ignitors are quite tough to find so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. As shown this coil / winding is mounted on a nicely made primitive wooden base and frame with great patina. Measures 7 1/8″ long x 4 1/4″ wide x 4 3/4 high.
