Large Hit Miss Gas Engine Tractor Ignition Ignitor. For Magneto Spark Plug Coil. Here is a nice large old Hit Miss Engine Ignitor. I have included many photos to show its nice solid condition. The points trip as they should. I do not know if it works. I do not know the make of engine it is correct for? Please do your research to be sure it is correct for your application. The ignitor is 6 1/14 inches long. The mounting holes are 9/16 inches in diameter and are 3 inches center to center. The narrow barrel is 1 3/4 inches in diameter and is 2 1/4 inches long. The shorter barrel is 2 1/4 inches in diameter. Please call if you need additional information. Package will be insured upon request. Most items are packaged with new bubble wrap and new packing peanuts. Sometimes prices are inflated due to the weight of the item. I require all international packages to be insured. My idea of condition and your idea of condition may be totally different. So I let the photos do the talking. Questions are always accepted and encouraged. This is an extremely hard to find original Webster magneto for an ignitor fired hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. It is a model PY with 3 magnets. The magneto mounts on a 2 7/16 x 2 13/16 inch bolt pattern and was used on larger gas engines of the day. There is almost no noticeable wear in the bearings. I checked it just before I took the pictures and it puts out a nice, hot, blue spark that will surely run your engine if it is set up properly. There is very little wear on the trip finger. The threads in the mounting holes need attention in at least two of them. Two still have the studs in and may be usable but you may want to helicoil them as well. It has the original name band on it yet. It has a slight crack in one of the endplates that some space age adhesive should remedy pretty easily. It also has a chipped ear on that same endplate. It also needs a leadout cover. I’m pretty sure the endplates and leadout covers are the same as the Webster JY magnetos. It has new springs on it. These large PY magnetos are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets. I’ve only owned 3 of them in 20+ years. If you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up! It would also make a great spare on the shelf. Let the pictures be your guide. This is a rather hard to find very early style “heavy pattern” 2 1/2hp hit and miss gasoline engine made by the John Lauson Manufacturing Company in New Holstein, Wisconsin. It is one of the earliest styles as it has the cylinder and crankcase cast in one piece. It is ignitor fired and is a true hit and miss gas engine. It is in good condition for it’s age with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than the fuel saver tab needing to be straightened out. This should be a very simple project. The engine turns over nicely and has good compression even after sitting for a few years. It looks to have some original paint under the repaint. The flywheels run true and the bearings and gearing all seem to be in great shape. This engine would benefit from an unrestoration or a proper restoration but displays quite nicely as it is. The gas tank is cast into the base. It has a very nice heavy cast brass serial tag on it. This is a very early engine that doesn’t turn up very often! It has nice lines to it and would be a fine addition to your early hit and miss engine collection or display. Other than a fuel line, gas, a battery and coil this engine shouldn’t take much to make noise! The pictures tell the story. You’ll like it. I can deliver this for free to LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, engine shows or swap meets later this year. I have a forklift to load if you choose to pick it up. This is an EXTREMELY hard to find original cast iron low tension ignition coil for a Stickney hit and miss gas engine. It is in excellent original condition as can be seen and retains some of the original blue paint. The knife switch works as it should. It is part number 1785. It mounts on top of the crankcase with two holes 4 inches apart on center and I believe it fits all sizes of Stickney engines. Please measure your engine or consult your parts book to be sure it fits your application. It will also work for other ignitor fired engines but is a factory Stickney coil. I checked it just before I took the pictures and it put out a spark like you are welding! These coils hardly ever turn up in the wild or even at swap meets so if you need one don’t miss your chance on it! It’s ready to go to work running an engine or it would also make a great spare on the shelf. The pictures tell the story. This is an original cast iron piston and rod for an Alamo, Rock Island, Empire, Cockshutt, or other Alamo-built hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. The rod has a part number of 5943. The piston is 4 1/2 inches in diameter and the center to center from the wrist pin to the crankshaft journal is about 15 inches. I would say this is for about a 4-5 hp engines. If you know what size it fits please educate me. It is in good condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. The babbitt bearing looks to be in good shape as well. The wrist pin moves but is very stiff. The original rings are in it and may be usable but I’ll leave that up to the new owner. The rod cap is on it as well. Please measure your engine to be sure it works for your application. These original parts are quite tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets! If you’ve been looking for one to complete a restoration or to replace your broken or repaired one here’s your chance. The pictures tell the story. It would surely beat making them! This is an extremely hard to find original ignitor for a National Engineering hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine made in Michigan. It likely fits several sizes of their engines. It mounts with two 1/2 inch holes 3 1/8 inches apart on center. Please consult your parts book or measure your engine to be sure it is correct for your application. It is in great used condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. There is very little noticeable wear on the movable shaft, the trip finger or the points! This is a VERY nice ignitor! If you need an ignitor for your engine because yours is missing, broken, or repaired here’s your chance at a pretty nice one. There’s an awful lot of them missing! This is an original Wico EK magneto for a spark plug fired hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. It is in good original condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. Everything seems to be in great shape. The mounting threads are in great shape. The leadout is also in great shape. There is very little wear on the armature shaft or on the roller pin. It puts out a hot, fat, blue spark that is sure to run your engine if it is set up properly. It has the original name tag on it. The case is in great shape with only a few very minor dings. If you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It is ready to go to work on an engine or it would also make a great spare on the shelf. Let the pictures be your guide.
