John Deere Hit And Miss Engine 1 1/2 HP

This is a John Deere 1 1/2 hp model E engine! This engine spins over and nothing is stuck! It has some compression and both valves are free! This would be an excellent restoration project as it is all there! There is no cracks breaks or welds that I can find! It did have a weld on the igniter and rocker arm but I swapped them out with good ones! Some degreasing and this will be a very nice engine! The gas tank appears to be solid and ready to be filled! John Deere / Associated HOT magneto for hit miss engine tractor

John Deere / Associated magneto for hit miss engine. Mag is in good condition and ready to use. Leaving the mag with original patina, new owner can shine up if desired. John Deere magneto also used on the Associated/United engines that took the 2 bolt mags. Mounting holes are 2 center to center. Like a lot of these mags the original mounting holes must have been stripped out so someone repaired by putting a piece of brass in its place so should never have the same problem again. Threaded mounting holes have good threads. Has original wire on it. I recharged the magnets to make sure it was at full strength. Bench tested and HOT mag. Lights up a test light nice and bright when spun by hand. Guaranteed to be a HOT mag. This is a low tension mag meaning it is for use with ignitors and not high tension (spark plug). If you don’t see a part you need listed, good chance I have it and haven’t gotten around to it yet so just check with me. Like I said I have done this a long time and try to list everything accurately to explain all the good and the bad. If you decide you don’t want it or find another one cheaper, I won’t take it back. Antique 1911 Waterloo Boy 2 1/2 hp. Hit and miss engine on Waterloo cart. Twenty years ago the previous owner had it bored and sleeved, with new rings, and crank. Two wheels on the cart have old repairs and all the wheels are a bit wobbly with age but cart pulls nice and is solid. I would guess that the head has an old repair, lower left side, but not sure on that either, starts easy and runs great, (sure on that) crank guard is a reproduction. Old JOHN LAUSON 1 1/2hp Hit Miss Gas Engine Ignitor Fired Steam Magneto WOW

Here is a pretty nice old 1 1/2hp John Lauson Model W hit and miss gas engine. It is fresh from an old collection where it lived for many years. It is in great shape with no cracks, breaks or repairs other than an old repair on the ignitor trip block and part of the serial tag missing. It turns over nicely with good compression. There seems to be very little wear on the gearing or in the bearings. It has a very unique fuel mixer or carburetor on it which was only on the earliest Model W engines. It has the original pulley and crankguard on it. It is also ignitor fired which makes it a bit unusual. It has the original gas tank in between the original skids. I think there’s a good amount of original paint under the repaint if you’d choose to unrestore the engine. I think with some fresh gas and a battery and coil this engine would fire right up. It would be a fine addition to your early hit and miss engine collection or Lauson display. The pictures tell the story. You’ll like it. I can deliver this for free to Symco, WI, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, engine shows or several auctions later this year. Rebuilt JOHN DEERE MODEL E HIT MISS ENGINE 1 1/2 HP TOTALLY TAKEN APART CLEAN UP USING electrolysis New rings. New fuel line and check valve Original gas tank (Does have old repair) no leaks.
