It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know of and has just been rebuilt with new mica, a new stationary electrode, new points, and springs.

VERY hard to find Sumter #30 rotary low tension magneto. Several applications including John Lauson Frost King Jr, and many others. It’s in great shape with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It turns over smoothly with excellent magnetic pull and puts out a very hot spark that will surely run your engine if set up properly. It has some flaking black paint on it that will come off pretty easily to make it look even nicer. It mounts with two holes 2 inches apart on center and the threads are in great shape. It’s ready to go to work on an engine or would be a great spare on the shelf for the next time you need one as they just don’t come along very often! This is an original cylinder/hopper for a 1 1/2 or 1 3/4hp John Lauson Frost King Jr. It has a few extra holes in the hopper and the cylinder is pitted so it needs a sleeve or new bore. There are no cracks, breaks or repairs that I can see or know of. With a little elbow grease this would be a good replacement for a broken or beyond repair cylinder. It could also be a good candidate to make a tank-cooled Frost King Jr engine! Frost King Jr parts are quite tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets! The assembly is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. The wrist pin seems to have very little wear. The original step cut rings seem to be in great shape and probably reusable. The connecting rod bearing looks to be in excellent condition. The piston is 3 1/2 inches in diameter. Please measure your engine to be sure it works for your application. These original Lauson parts are exceedingly tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets! Here is a real nice original cast iron magneto gear for a Lauson Frost King Jr or Alpha Jr hit and miss gas engine. It measures about 3 inches in diameter with a 1/2 inch face. It has a 3/8 inch hole for the magneto armature shaft and the keyway is in great shape. It has 22 teeth and they are in great shape. They have very little noticeable wear if any at all. This gear has no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind and is ready to be put to work on an engine. These original gears are VERY difficult to find and it would certainly be easier than making one!
