Here is an antique bronze railroad horn. Leslie Tyfon model 200. Measures nearly 26 inches long. Bell end is nearly 10 inches in diameter. Large and heavy, but oh so cool. I do not have the air capacity to test it. No cracks or breaks found. There are dings and dent along the tube, and few on the bell end. As found condition, I have not cleaned or tested it. This is a real nice old headlight for a railroad locomotive. It is very unusual in that it is mostly cast iron construction. The housing and bonnet are all cast iron and the mounting framework is steel. It has a great look to it and is in excellent condition for it’s age with no cracks, breaks, or repairs other than the pivot pin in the hinge for the lens and the nut that holds it closed. It is also missing a small portion of one of the side lens retainers but this would be an easy repair and doesn’t affect anything the way it is. This light is quite large measuring about 23 inches wide, 22 inches deep, and 18 inches tall. As you can see I wired a temporary cord onto it. It lights up just as it should. The wires coming out of the housing are old and hard and should probably be replaced but it does work the way it is. The temporary cord I will keep for my next project. It has had the original glass locomotive number panels that go in the side frames replaced with masonite panels. It is extremely bright and really lights up the neighborhood at night! It has “GN” casting numbers and I don’t know which railroad it originally came from. If you do please educate me. I do know that lights like this are. Extremely difficult to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up and it probably won’t be this nice. I can also deliver it for free to LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, swap meets or engine shows next year. The pictures tell the story. I bought it as parts and it was never finished or ran. There is a chassis/frame (steel) with brass wheels. From wheel to wheel inside the rails is 3.50 (can be seen in pic). There are (2) brass motors. Looks like the holes line up to mount to the chassis, but again this is how i received this and I know very little about it. Motors may need some finish work before running. There is a left and right. The dollar is not included and is just pictured for size reference. Please see pics and ask questions! This is a 3-1/2 inch gauge engine called TICH a design by author and engineer LBSC -pen name his book on the engine in still available. I know nothing about this, but just thought I’d pass the info along. Antique live steam locomotive large acorn whistle brass hit & miss engine train. Presented for your consideration is this very well built antique steam whistle. This is a large steam whistle that, in total, measures approximately 15 3/4″ l x 6 3/4″w with a 3 diameter body. It is an older piece of american steampunk manufactured circa late 1800′s – early 1900′s that would have been installed onto a locomotive or steam engine of the time. This piece is marked “171″ on the front along with other markings on the fittings. Please view all photos to determine the specifics of this piece for yourself. I have not tested it so i have no comment on the actual operation of this whistle although i do not foresee any issues arising from this piece. It is surprisingly heavy as everything made over a century ago was manufactured with the finest quality and craftsmanship. This amazing whistle would make a wonderful centerpiece to any collection.
