It has a diecast body, and the threads in the bottom are nice, no breaks or cracks as well. It has been taken apart, cleaned, armature shafts turned down to make the perfectly round again, the bushing plates have been bored, and bushings made to fit the armature shafts, and pressed into plates. It has been painted, and put back together, magnet charged, new springs, rollers, band, and decal added. It has been tested and is hot and ready to install on your engine project. The mounting bolt pattern on these is 2″ X 2″. We have been in the magneto, igniter and carburetor business for 40 years, and everything we do is guaranteed for 2 years. This is a pretty nice original Allen Magnetizer for recharging magnets of any kind especially magnets for hit and miss engine magnetos. It is one of the larger magnet chargers I’ve run across in quite a while. It measures about 16 1/2 x 9 1/2 x 10 3/4 inches tall. It has the original charging blocks with it and is capable charging 2 and 4 pole magnets. It also can charge round armatures as the blocks and housing can accommodate them. It is quite heavy and works very nicely. I’ve used it for several magnets and charged a few just before I took the pictures. It is 110 volts AC which is much nicer than having to use a battery on the DC powered ones. The original cord is good but the end is a bit shaky. It works find but is old. These magnet chargers are becoming increasingly tough to find with each passing year and they are one of the most indispensable tools you can have if you collect hit and miss engines or tractors. A lot of times a magneto just needs a charge to wake it up. If you’ve been looking for a nice one here’s your chance. This one is ready to be put to work. Just think of the sideline you could have charging magnets for all of your engine friends. The pictures tell the story. Vintage ford model t car/truck brass era auto antique brass stationary old hit & miss magneto/steam engine antique magnet charger industrial age steampunk. Early original unmarked magnet charger was nicely-made of mostly cast iron with a wood base and solid brass fittings. Looks to be factory made… Uncertain of the power source requirements… Possibly 6-volt powered ??? Has a knife switch control and. Measures about 7 inches long by 4-3/8 inches wide by 5-1/4 inches tall. Probable uses are magneto and speedometer magnet recharging etc. It came from estate of hit & miss/steam engine/ford model a t era parts collector. Appears to be good used with some wear/marks/light surface rusting/most of the cloth wire coil covering is gone/etc. Please see photos for condition details.
