This is an original ignitor for an International Harvester Type M gas engine. It will fit the 1 1/2, 3, and 6hp engines. It is in very solid, as found condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know of. It has a cast iron body and mounts with two holes 2 1/2 inches apart on center. Please measure your engine or consult your parts book to be be sure it will work for you. Everything to function is present and correct on it but the movable electrode is stuck. I’m sure with a little patience and heat it should free up. It has some original paint on it yet as can be seen. With a little attention it should be ready to be used on an engine or put on the shelf for a spare. If you’ve been looking for one don’t miss your chance on this one. It will likely be a long time before another one turns up! Let the pictures be your guide. You’ll like it. Here is a very nice United Engine Co friction magneto. It is in great shape, looks like it has been rebuilt. I hooked it up to a 12 volt battery and it spun just as it should. Please check out the pictures and see if you need it. For questions 419 789 1159. SPECIAL NOTE: This is friction type generator. This mag is meant to be used with a coil. It is not meant to be able to start an engine but is meant to take the place of the batteries once the engine is running. It in itself will not produce a spark that will jump an air gap. Looks to be rebuilt. Mounts with 2 holes about 4-5/8 apart on center. No bearing wear can be felt. About 9-1/4″, and is about 5-1/2″ tall. Weighs about 12-1/2 lbs before any box or packing materials. I think I list items very accurately but my opinion on condition may differ from yours. In my opinion this is a great magneto. If you have any questions about how to use it on your engine please ask. Sumter 12 Magneto for Hit Miss Engine. Magneto is in good condition and ready to use. Comes with original mounting bolts. Comes with Gear DJ 142. 3 13/14 2 bolt mounting. Mounting holes are good. This is a Magneto For A Rather Large Gas Engine Tagged As “The Star” Made By The Hercules Electric & Mfg Co. Of Indianapolis Indiana USA. 1156 This Looks Like It Should Go On The Front Of A Big Engine such as An IHC Mogul Or Another type of Side shaft But Have Not Been Able to Positively Identify it As of Yet.. This Is 7 3/4″ Tall, 10 1/4″ Long, Base Measures: 4 1/8″ X 5 1/8″ Bolt Hole spacing is 3 Weighs 27 LBS! I Have Had This For About 10 Years & Have not Been Able to Find it A Home, Although It Could Be Made to work for A Number Of Applications…. I Once seen An Old Add For The Hercules Electric & Mfg. Which Stated They Can “Make A Magneto For Any Application”. Very hard to find Sumter No. 14 rotary magneto as used on the headless Fairbanks Morse Z engines and a few others. Magneto is in excellent rebuilt condition and has no wear in the bearings as it has been bushed. It has very little wear on the gear as can be seen. The gear is part number DJ142 and is for the headless Z engine. This magneto would also work on the 3hp Z with ignitor ignition and rotary magneto behind the hopper but the gear would have to be changed. I believe it will also work for the Plugoscillator engines but the base of the magneto would need to be changed. It has very hot spark as I’ve checked it. It mounts with two holes 3 7/8 inches apart on center. The output block has been replaced as can be seen and a very nice job was done on it. It is ready to go to work on an engine or put on your shelf a spare. These Sumter 14 magnetos are quite tough to find especially in this condition so don’t miss your chance if you need one for any reason. Let the pictures be your guide. You’ll like it. Here is a an original mag bracket for a 6hp or 8hp Associated or United. It’s in great shape and ready to use. There is a slight flaw on the edge of a couple teeth of the gear but I don’t think that will hurt a thing. There is some porosity on the mag mounting area of the casting but that is just the way it came out of the mold. Check out the pictures and see if you need it. For questions 419 789 1159. Fits 6hp and 8hp Size engines. The mag mounting pattern is 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″. Mounting holes to the engine are 2-1/4 apart on center. 1″ x 1/2″ push rod slot. Thanks for looking at this listing! This is an original fuel mixer or carburetor for a Nelson Brothers or Nelson Brothers-built hit and miss gas engine. It may fit other models or sizes so please do your homework to be sure it fits your application. It is in good condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. The fuel needle is stuck and should come loose with some heat or electrolysis. It mounts with two holes 2 7/8 inches apart on center and the hole in the flange is 1 1/2 in diameter. I believe this is for a 7hp or possibly a 5hp but please measure your engine to be sure it works for your application. With a little effort this mixer should be ready to be used on an engine or put in your inventory as a spare. These original parts are quite tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets! If you’ve been looking for one to complete a restoration or to replace your broken or repaired one here’s your chance. The pictures tell the story. It would surely beat making one! This is a very hard to find original brass fuel mixer for an early outboard, marine, or other gas engine. It is in outstanding condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know of and everything moves as it should. It mounts with two holes 1 3/4 inches apart on center. Please measure your engine to be sure it works for your application. It has 1/4 male threads for the fuel line connection and they are in great shape. I believe this mixer is ready to be used on an engine or put in your inventory as a spare. These original brass mixers, especially ones as nice as this one are quite tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets!
