RARE Antique Belt Driven Hit N Miss Steam Engine Grist Mill Grain Grinder

RARE Antique Belt Driven Hit N Miss Steam Engine Grist Mill Grain Grinder

MADE IN OUR GOOD OL’ USA!! And made from the days when a company and its workers were proud of. Their products and made sure to resemble that. Good-natured pride by actually showing it in. Their work/craftsmanship and quality materials. Will Undoubtedly Make A NICE Addition For The General Antique Collector, Someone Looking For Replacement Parts, or The Person Who Loves To Tinker With The Hit & Miss Engines Showing Others At The County Fairs How They Use To Grind Grains! Will Upload More Pictures ASAP. This a Martin No. 4 Grain Mill made by the MARTIN MFG. These were often ran by tractor’s PTO belt-drives as well as the hit n miss and steam engines. This has been stored in my grandparent’s attic for who knows how long. I inherited their house n property several years ago and now me n my wife need to make space so it’s time that someone can actually use this equipment instead of being stored where no one can enjoy it. We believe this grain mill is in good condition considering their age, and based on the age of these mills they’re obviously in used condition. May have scratches, flaking paint, or other imperfections that are inevitable due to conditions beyond our control and so nowhere have we said or implied that this item is in absolute perfect condition meaning it’s used and so obviously not something that stays looking like it just came off of the manufacture’s production line. We Go Out Of Our Way To Properly/Carefully Package Your Items As We Would Expect The Same If The Shoe Was On The Other Foot. And this will ALSO need to have a crate made for it since a cardboard box obviously WON’T come close to being strong enough. Which are clearly presented further down the page.. We live by the honorable system of doing to others and their items as we would have them do unto us. And so your item will be packaged respectively according to what it is made of, how delicate it is, and other such factors making sure that we did our part to safely/properly package your paid-for item. As stated above, we go out of our way to make sure your item is securely packaged, and a variety of detailed pictures/video are taken during the packaging process to verify that we did package it properly. New Holland Mill Feed Grinder. Working condition, the pulley has a small chunk out of it. Which can be seen in pictures. Otherwise no broken parts. This is the smallest size grinder offered by New Holland and was made sometime around the turn of the century. All casting numbers are 6##. No broken or repaired castings except as mentioned above and seen in pictures of the pulley. It appears the wooden legs are original to this mill, as they retain their faint red color. There is a crack in one leg from use, and other old none original boards have been attached over the years to strengthen the base and all can be seen in pictures. Pulley, fly wheel, axel, auger, grinder and grind adjustment are all in working condition. The bell housing spring is installed and included (not seen in pictures). This is a real nice old Challenge #6 belt driven corn or feed grinder or grist mill. It is in excellent older restored condition and still displays rather nicely. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs on it that I can see or know of. It was made by the Challenge Company in Batavia, Illinois, the same company that made the famous windmills, and measures about 34 inches tall. Everything seems to work as it should and it has a new belt on it for the shaker pan. You can used the adjustment knobs to set how coarse of find you’d like to grind your corn. It has very ornate cast iron legs and also the curved spoke flywheel and is very appealing to the eye! There is very little wear in the bearings and I believe it’s ready to go to work. The hopper was fabricated when the mill was restored and a nice job was done on it! It would be a fine addition to your early machinery collection or display and would look great running it with a gas engine at the shows! The pictures tell the story. It’s tough to find them this nice as they’re usually all worn out. I can deliver this to Coolspring, PA, Baraboo, WI, Portland, IN, or some other shows or auctions I attend later this year for free. Unique old grinders like this don’t turn up very often so don’t miss it. APPLETON GRINDER CORN BURR MILL Nice Piece to Run with a Hit and Miss Engine

Here is a nice Appleton burr mill. It seems to be in great shape and pretty much ready to use. I opened it up and the burrs or plates look good to me. The bearings seem nice and tight. The shaker mechanism has a cast iron piece riveted to a tin piece. Those riveted have pulled through the tin. A very easy and good fix would be to drill out the rivets and attach it to the tin with screws. The knob for adjusting the pressure on the plates has one notch missing but that really doesn’t matter at all. It is a great item to run with your old engine. Take a look at the pictures and see if you should have it. I would attach it to a pallet for free. Turns over fine, the bearings seem nice and tight. 37-1/4 tall to the top of the wood hopper extension. 31-3/4 tall to the top of the cast iron hopper. About 27″ long and 17-1/2″ wide. The base is about 15-3/4″ x 17-1/2″. The pulley is 9-1/4″ in diameter, and 5-1/4″ wide. The flywheel is about 13-3/4 in diameter. I think it is in great shape but I haven’t had it fully apart and haven’t tried to use it. Most items will go out faster though. I have many good parts and pieces I will be listing in the next few months. I try to do a very good job of listing everything I sell in a very accurate manner to explain all the good and bad points with the pictures and in the description. So if someone doesn’t pay I will ban them from my listings and also tell all my friends who also sell engine parts on here who to watch out for. If you haven’t caught on this is supposed to be mildly funny but yet serious at the same time. If you decide you don’t want it or find another one cheaper you I won’t take it back. For example if my measurements are wrong I would take it back. So here it is. Check out my other items. Be sure to add me to your favorites list. Fresh out of a local homestead is this 5 hp HIT & MISS WITTE saw mill. Here is the story on this unit. The original owner who passed away about a year ago used this mill until then to cut his logs for his wood stove. It has been stored in the barn ever since. The daughter swears this is a working motor as she used to help her dad cut the wood. The engine is well greased and has good compression. Has a wico mag and a coil. There are a few rolls of leather belts. I have never started it, but I welcome anybody that is in driving distance to come down and start it if they want to. I will help you with loading. Feel free to ask any? And I will try to answer the best I can. This engine would look sweet with a fresh paint job. Great addition to any collection. Will start low with NR. Here is a McCormic Deering 1 1/2 HP engine. Not restored but runs very well. No knocks or rattles. See no cracks in the water tank. This engine was picked up from an estate sale and the exact history and what may or may not have been done to it is not known. We have had it running. Looks to be complete and pretty much original with the exception of the bell crank on the throttle shaft which was replaced with one that I made. The original one was pot metal and fell apart.
