This is an extremely nice original battery/coil box for a Monitor hit and miss gas engine. I believe it is correct for several if not all of the models of Monitor engines including the VJ pumping engine. It measures about 6 1/2 x 10 x 8 1/2 inches tall and is in excellent original condition and should be ready to go to work! It has the original mounting bolts and porcelain insulator as can be seen. It needs a sheet metal cover but that should be fairly easy to fabricate. It has a great original look and would compliment a nice original engine. If yours is missing like many of them are here is your chance! It would also make a great spare on the shelf. The pictures tell the story. It would surely beat making one. This is an original governor detent pivot for a Monitor VJ pumping hit and miss gas engine. It may fit other models so please do your homework to be sure it fits your application. It fits on a 5/16 pivot pin. It is about 1 1/4 inches thick through the hole and about 4 3/16 inches tall overall. It is in excellent used condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind and is ready to go to work! If yours is broken, missing, or repaired as many or them are here’s a chance at a nice one. It would also make a great spare on the shelf. The pictures tell the story. I have a large, unmachined recast Muffler for a 5HP Baker Monitor horizontal gas engine. This is a raw casting. Requires 3 carriage bolts and 3 square nuts. The muffler needs to be drilled and taped as well to what ever diameter you want. Can be used on other engines as well. I used a muffler that had a very old patch on it and liked it so much i made a few. I did not want to ruin the patina on the original one. Can drill out to several different sizes. I had mine finished at a machine shop. Price is for a new cast unmachined set. They are not perfect, but this is what i have. Wisconsin dairy barn fresh 1 1/4hp Monitor VJ Farm Pump Engine with original pump jack. It’s just the way we like to find them with nice original paint and lots more to be found under the years of oil. Engine is in good condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than the starting handle which has been replaced with a bolt. It has the original pulley as can be seen. The pumpjack has some wear but is in good shape with no cracks, breaks, or repairs except an old braze repair on the original Baker/Monitor pump clamp. The engine has some compression but would benefit from a good valve cleaning as I can hear it leaking past them. It would be a nice original engine addition to your collection. This Monitor BJ 3hp, 450rpm, Sn 48563 engine was restored many years ago and has been inside since. It has the pump jack and pump, pump is a F&W Hoosier. On a very sturdy cart and seldom seen clutch all in working condition with oiler and greasers as needed. It is not stuck and i have not started it but may need the tank cleaned and could use a nice clean up. This engine comes from a deceased friend and also will list the other Monitor engine a Vj. 1 1/4hp Monitor VJ Farm Pump Engine with original pump jack. Engine is in good condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than a chipped tooth on the pump driver gear and a homemade timer contact which would be easy to replace. Restoration was not quite finished on this engine but it was pretty close. The engine needs a governor weight and a detent finger added to be complete. (I will give contact info for parts suppliers) It has excellent compression and also has the original gas tank, muffler (not in the pics but painted as the rest of the engine and included) and serial tag on it and it should be a pretty straightforward project. The pumpjack is in great shape with no cracks, breaks, or repairs and has the original Baker/Monitor pump clamp and Monitor cross brace on the uprights. With just a little effort this will make a nice working display. The hardest part of the project is already done! It would be a nice addition to your collection. Very nice original 1 1/4hp Monitor on rare factory cart with original battery box. Just the way you like to find them with lots of original paint! The engine has been bored and fitted with a larger piston and has outstanding compression! It has very little wear on the gearing or bearings and the valves are nice and tight. It has the correct muffler and pump jack attachment on it and a nice coil wired in the box. It haven’t tried it but see no reason it wouldn’t run. Being on the factory cart and originally complete as it sits it would surely be an upgrade for your collection!
