This is a VERY hard to find original Leader 3/4 inch governor for a steam engine or gas engine. It is in excellent used condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than needing the valve rod put back into the socket with the set screw. Everything moves as it should. There is very little wear on the gears and only a little more on the pulley shaft. It has the original pulley on it. The 3/4 inch NPT threads look to be in great shape. It stands about 12 inches tall. Other than the valve rod and a little cleaning I would say this governor would be ready to be used on an engine! These old Leader governors are quite tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you’ve been looking for one for an authentic restoration here’s a really nice one. A very nice looking engine I picked up at a local estate sale. The gentleman use to work on old engines. The engine seems to have good compression by turning it over by hand. I got a little tingle from the spark plug wire when turn over by hand. Has original MAYTAG sparkplug.. No cracks or repairs. The flywheel looks to be in good condition… Whould be a great engine to restore!!! I sell mostly used or vintage items. I have a vintage Maytag Model 92 kick start gas engine. It feels like it has really good compression. The spark plug is broken and the wire is missing. I do not know if it has spark or not. The one corner of the mounting bracket is broken off. Also the air filter is missing. We are not open on night’s and weekends.
