Essex Brass Corp Detroit Mich. Brass Double Drip Oiler. This hard to find style oiler was used on many brands of antique marine engines as well as Detroit and Bessemer Vertical hit and miss engines to list a few. The oiler is large measuring 3 1/2 inches in diameter and has an overall length of 9 1/2 inches. The oiler was disassembled and cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner. This oiler is in very good condition with minimal dings scratches and wrench marks. The oiler glass has a few scratches on the outside but no cracks or chips. I did not disassemble the lower sight glasses, both glasses are in good shape, they still have a little oil reside inside that needs to be flushed out. One side has a brass elbow and the other side still has its functional check valve. The oiler will need new gaskets before use and will look really nice with a light buffing. Here is a very stout and impressive 9hp Ideal vertical tank cooled hit and miss engine. This may be the largest ignitor fired Ideal still alive from the limited research I’ve done. It is in great shape and was restored many years ago and shown locally. Everything turns and interacts as it should and it has good compression. It has an extremely well done homemade fuel pump on it. The ignitor and trip linkage has some repairs on them but there are no other cracks, breaks, or repairs on it that I can see or know of. It is unique in that it pulls down to trip the ignitor. It has 3 3/8 x 30 flywheels on it and is very impressive when standing near it. It has a belt drive water pump which (I’m not sure) looks to be original and a very nicely done stainless steel screen cooler. The original name tag is missing but you can clearly see where it was. Currently it has a homemade stamped brass tag with the information on it. It is on a homemade drop cart that isn’t the fanciest but surely makes moving it easier! I haven’t tried to run it but I doubt it would take very much to make noise. Good older restoration 1 1/2hp John Deere E (26XXXX) hit and miss engine. It was restored many years ago and has held up pretty well. Everything seems to be in great shape and turns and interacts as it should. It has decent compression and shouldn’t take much to make noise although I haven’t tried it. The gas tank has many solder type repairs on it and there is an extra stud screwed into the side of the water jacket for a push rod return spring but this could easily be disguised. It works just fine as it is and could surely be left along. The magneto looks to be in good shape and the engine has the correct muffler and pulley on it. There is some main bearing thrust that could be taken up but it would run the way it is. All in all a pretty honest old John Deere engine. Wisconsin dairy barn fresh 1 1/4hp Monitor VJ Farm Pump Engine with original pump jack. It’s just the way we like to find them with nice original paint and lots more to be found under the years of oil. Engine is in good condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than the starting handle which has been replaced with a bolt. It has the original pulley as can be seen. The pumpjack has some wear but is in good shape with no cracks, breaks, or repairs except an old braze repair on the original Baker/Monitor pump clamp. The engine has some compression but would benefit from a good valve cleaning as I can hear it leaking past them. It would be a nice original engine addition to your collection. This is a VERY hard to find original 1 Gardner governor for a steam engine or gas engine or tractor. It is in excellent VERY lightly used condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind that I can see or know of. It has very little wear on the shaft or on the gears! Everything moves as it should and it shouldn’t need much attention at all to be put back into service. The 1 npt threads are in great shape as can be seen. This governor measures about 14 tall overall. If you need a governor for a project or just for a spare on the shelf this is a really nice one that hardly needs any attention. Original governors like this are getting extremely tough to find in the wild any more so don’t miss your chance on it. Let the pictures be your guide. You won’t be disappointed in any way. This is an original cylinder head with valves for a 3hp Fairbanks Morse Z gas engine. It mounts with four holes on a 4 1/4 square pattern and is correct for the spark plug fired 3hp engines. It is in good condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It has the original valves, springs, and keepers as can be seen. The valves move as they should and other than some minor cleaning this head should be ready to be used on an engine. The pictures tell the story.
