A rare unbuilt Rowland Mfg. Model kit in excellent condition. There are 4 castings in cast iron. The base, the cylinder, the head and the flywheel. The flywheel is about 5 1/2 inches in diameter. Unfortunately there is no name plate. There are over 35 pages of blue prints and instructions. I believe this model kit was put out by the Rowland Co. Almost 20 years ago and hard to find now. This engine is similar to Maytag engines. I was informed by a knowledgeable person that this one of the earliest utili-motors made. It has a split crank case which dates it to 1927-28, making it a first year engine, and it has a very low serial number. The engine turns over with compression and it does have spark. I actually had it running, but the carburetor was covered with epoxy/goo and it started leaking fuel, so I peeled off the goop to investigate and the carburetor pretty much fell apart. There is also a small crack in the foot pedal, but I kicked it over several times and it still works fine, could be replaced. Other then that this seems to be a good engine, in pretty good condition. Size 3 3/8″ diameter, stands over 6 3/4″ tall overall and has 3/8 N. Threads on the base with a elbow that goes to 1/4 N. It can be removed for different rod application. A rare unbuilt Domestic air cooled model kit in excellent condition. The castings in cast iron are the 2 flywheels (6 1/4 inches in diameter), the head and the sleeve for the cylinder. The aluminum parts included are, the cylinder, the gas tank, base, main bearing caps, and the two piece muffler. The bronze parts included are, the connecting rod, carburetor, 2 side shaft bearings, igniter and rocker arm. There are eleven pages of blue prints. I believe this model kit was put out by the HEWCO co in about 1995. Over 25 years ago and hard to find now. Please see my other auctions for more oilers, collectibles and engine parts. Original Super Rare Lauson Lawton Wisconsin Sideshaft Gas Engine Hit Miss Cast Iron Hand Trucks. Very rare hand truck for rare side shaft engine. This is for the larger 3 or 4 HP Wisconsin sideshaft. It has 12 dia. Front and 17 3/4 dia. Rear wheels with a 3 1/4 wide face. The solid steel axles are 29 long overall. It has the original hand forged handle. Has original front axle braces. No cracks welds or repairs on the iron parts. The wood is solid but has some age cracks. A Lauson side shaft engine collector told me that he know most of the collectors with Wisconsin engines and only knows of a very few that have this size of original cart. I have been collecting for over 40 years and it is the only one I have ever had. Large heavy items can be picked up here in North East Kansas.
