Original Sandwich Gas Engine Hit Miss Cast Iron Hand Trucks. This set has the original plank deck with the original steel grab handles. The wood in the handle has been replaced. One ear on front axle has a welding repair where handle attaches. Cracks, welds or repairs. Truck would work for any brand of small stationary engine up to 3 HP. Here is a very nice antique SANDWICH hit and miss engine. This is badged as a 2.5HP, 500 rpm with serial number A19618. There is a speed control on the governor. The rocker has a weld on it from a long time ago. The flywheels are about 17″ in diameter by 13/16″ wide. The engine has a lot of compression and is fired by a WICO mag. It runs very well. These engines are known to be heavy duty and of good quality. They are much sought after Haish designed engines and are pretty scarce around here. This is a rather scarce New Idea Vari-Speed engine in the 1 1/2-3hp size. It is stuck and a project but the key parts including the carburetor and Bosch Type S magneto are there. It is missing the rocker arm and push rod. There are no cracks, breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of but it will need a gas tank. I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to Baraboo,, WI, Portland, IN, or Coolspring, PA, later this year. It can stay here as long as needed as long as it’s paid for. An incredible presentation working model of a Sandwich Mfg Co hit and miss engine. This was made by Jim May in 1992 and given to Herman Wagner. The engine measures 12″ long, 5 3/4″ high, and 8 wide counting the drive shaft. The oak base is 20 1/2″ long and 4 5/8″ wide. All items are custom packaged after the sale when I have a destination address. Please see the pics which do not do it justice. 1 1/2hp Sandwich Cub hit and miss engine with a Gould Shapley Muir tag from Canada. Restoration was started but not finished. Valves have been done but need to be lapped in. I think the engine has new rings. It will need a gas tank plumbed up and the restoration finished. The rocker arm and stand have old repairs and there are a few chipped teeth on the pinion gear but it should be fine with no attention. Has the correct Wico EK magneto on it. Should be a pretty straightforward project. I can deliver for free (or a cold beverage) to Coolspring, PA, later this month or LeSueur, MN, Baraboo, WI, or Portland, IN, next year.
